Local Philanthropies

Locally, the Xi Psi chapter of Delta Zeta supports the Boys & Girls Clubs of Grand Rapids Youth Commonwealth, which provides children from the inner city with recreation and educational activities.

The ladies of Xi Psi are actively involved in Sheldon Meadows Retirement Home, our ladies often visit and facilitate activities such as bingo.

The ladies of Xi Psi also take part in Relay For Life. It is an annual event held at GVSU and other college campuses around the nation to raise money for the American Cancer Society while celebrating those who have survived cancer.

National Philanthropies

Below you will find the foundations that Delta Zeta is partnered with and nationally supports:

Gallaudet University, Washington, D.C. The world's only university that has undergraduate programs accessible to hearing-impaired students.

The House Ear Institute, Los Angeles, California A research site for hearing disorders and the prevention of hearing loss, and the adjacent clinic treats a variety of hearing disorders.

Sound Beginnings, Logan, Utah This program donates kits which help to screen newborn babies for hearing loss. They stress the importance of screening at birth instead of waiting until the problem is noticed. By the time most babies are identified with hearing loss (which is age 3), many opportunities are lost. Identification at an early age will help the child's development.

The Painted Turtle Camp, Lake Hughes, California The Painted Turtle is a medical specialty camp for children and their families with chronic and life-threatening illnesses. It provides a genuine camp experience for seriously ill children. The campers and their families attend free of charge.
