College Bowl Constitution

College Bowl is an organization dedicated to providing Grand Valley State University students (without bias of race, sex, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, age, marital status, or handicap) the opportunity to compete in organized games of trivia and other forms of mental challenge.

College Bowl will consist of all interested Grand Valley State University students, four of whom will serve as officers. Those members who meet the officer requirements set forth by the University and wish to serve as an executive will have their names entered in a general election of those members who are GVSU students. Officers (a president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer) will be elected by a simple plurality vote; ties will be broken by run-off election among the tied candidates.

The president will serve as spokesman for the organization and will be responsible for completion of all business with the University (such as registration, Student Senate's budget process). The vice-president will assist the president and conduct business in the President's absence. The treasurer is responsible for finances and preparation of a budget to be submitted to Student Senate. The secretary will record and maintain agendas and meeting minutes.

Any officer may be impeached if 75% of the members of College Bowl vote to hold another election for his position.

Should College Bowl disband as an organization, any funds in the treasury will be returned to those organizations which provided them. Specifically, any funds allocated by Student Senate will be returned to the Student Life Fee.
