Basic Level of Achievement |
|
I. Technology
Operations and Concepts: Teachers demonstrate a sound understanding of
technology operations and concerts. |
A. Demonstrate
introductory knowledge, skills, and understanding of concepts related to
technology. B. Demonstrate continual growth in technology knowledge and skills to
stay abreast of current and emerging technologies. |
A. Throughout
the entire class, I used many of the Microsoft applications to produce
different types of documents that can be used in a classroom.
For example, I created a brochure in Microsoft word and
this website. B. In
order to keep myself current in the many advantages and uses of technology in
a classroom, I visit many different websites, like International site for
Technology Education and the Michigan Teacher's Network. I
also am very comfortable in using many different search engines and
educational databases to find information on a particular issue. |
II. Planning
and designing learning environments and experiences: Teachers plan and design effective learning
environments and experiences supported by technology. |
A. Design developmentally appropriate learning opportunities
that apply technology-enhanced instructional strategies to support the
diverse needs of learners. B. Apply current research on teaching and learning with technology when
planning learning environments and experiences. C. Identify and locate technology resources and evaluate them for
accuracy and suitability. D. Plan for the management of technology resources
within the content of learning activities. E. Plan strategies to manage student learning in a
technology-enhanced environment. |
A. Supporting
the needs of diverse learners is what being a Special Educator is about.
Throughout this class, I have developed an understanding on how to
create a multimedia presentation, using videos and graphics from
different locations, and using software to generate concept maps.
B. Through
the creation of an ASSURE lesson plan, I have a better
understanding on how to incorporate technology into my lesson plans to help
create a more technology rich environment and appeal to the many learning
styles of my students. C. I
am able to identify and locate the many resources available to me on any
topic and can evaluate them for accuracy, suitability, and legitimacy.
I also have acquired knowledge on what search engines are best for
searching for particular topics. The Helpful
Links page of my website has several valid sites related to my field of
study. D. I learned
a few techniques throughout this course in order to manage resources in a
technology rich environment. I am still learning more about this as I
continue my education. I look forward to the opportunity to put my
learning into practice. E. At
this time, I have not received a lot of instruction and have limited
opportunities to demonstrate these skills; however once I have enter the |
III. Teaching,
learning and the curriculum: Teachers implement curriculum plans that include
methods and strategies for applying technology to maximize student learning. |
A. Facilitates
technology-enhanced experiences that address content standards and student
technology standards. B. Use technology to support learner-centered strategies that address
the diverse needs of students. C. Apply technology to develop students’ higher order
skills and creativity. D. Manage
student-learning activities in a technology-enhance environment. |
A. The NET Standards for K-12 technology education were
the basis for all of the projects in this class. I feel that all the
coursework that I have completed has helped me to be able to create and produce
environments rich with technology -enhanced experiences for any educational
setting. B. I have
a better understanding of using technology to create projects for my students
in order to address the needs of my students. My digital story
is a great example of these skills, as well as the video I created. C. In order
to develop an environment that my students can use their higher order
thinking skills, I can use programs like Photo Story or a concept
mapping program to produce creative products. D. Throughout
the class, I participated in many blogs and discussions on line. These
are some of the tools that I will be able to incorporate into the classroom
when I receive my |
IV. Assessment
and Evaluation: Teachers apply
technology to facilitate a variety of effective assessment and evaluation
strategies. |
A. Apply
technology in assessing student learning of subject matter using a variety of
assessment techniques. B. Use
technology resources to collect and analyze data, interpret results, and
communicate finds to improve instructional practice and maximize student
learning. C. Apply
multiple methods of evaluation to determine students’ appropriate use of technology
resources for learning, communication and productivity. |
A. I
learned how to create rubrics for my lessons using different technology
resources, such as websites and books. These rubrics that I have generated
shown me many different ways that I can evaluate student’s work. B. I
understand the concept of using technology to analyze data and other results,
such as data related to the MEAPS; however, I created a spreadsheet that was similar
to the data collection of the MEAPS only I used M&M's. C. The
undergraduate education classes spend little time teaching students about
methods of evaluation. Through out this course, I have been a part of many
class discussions based on assessment. Several different ways of
assessment that were talked about are blogs, web pages, and podcasts. |
V.
Productivity and professional practice: Teachers use technology to
enhance their productivity and professional practice. |

evaluate and reflect on professional practice to make informed decisions
regarding the use of technology in support of student learning C. Apply technology to communicate and collaborate with
peers, parents, and the larger community in order to nurture student
learning. |
A. The best
way that I can engage in ongoing professional development and lifelong
learning is to use technology as often as possible and to subscribe to
several professional publications. B. One of the ways that I will stay current on
technology and be able to make informed decisions is to keep myself immersed
in the literature and other tools, such as websites, blogs, and links. C. I understand and am able to use many different
forms of technology in order to communicate with peers. I am very comfortable
in using email, blogs, and participating in on line discussions. |
VI. Social
Ethical, Legal, and Human Resources: Teachers understand
the social, ethical, legal and human issues surrounding the use of technology

my students to always give credit where credit is due. I am very
comfortable in citing my sources as not to plagiarize and understand the
rules placed on copyrighted material and its uses. C. I am aware that people come from different
backgrounds and can find resources on the Internet to help me incorporate
diversity in my classroom to make it a welcoming place. D. I understand how to use basic resources found in a
technology lab and am able to instruct others on their proper use. If I
find that I do not understand how to use a particular piece of equipment in
the technology lab then I will make an appointment with a Technology
Specialist in order to learn before I use it with my students. E. I will assure equal access to technology for may
students by being willing to make accommodations and modifications on all
lessons that incorporate technology. This is important because it
allows all students to receive what they need in order to use the technology
and be a part of the learning. |
