Negative Space: the areas of space in and around the subject of an artwork. The term is also used by musicians to indicate silence within a piece. Negative space is nothing in itself, but we can see nothing without it.

Negative Space is also a bare-bones open mic, writers' workshop, and social free-for-all held every Sunday at 7 PM on the Avenue for the Arts, 106 S. Division #311 (Martineau live/work spaces). Original work is encouraged, but cover poems are always welcome.
