Spring Advantage 2006
January 26, 2006- August 11, 2006

I worked at Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom as a park greeter in the Main Entrance and as a merchandise hostess in Dinoland U.S.A. I was scheduled more often as a park greeter than in merchandise so I became closer to those cast members. Ron and Bill, two of the full time cast members at the main entrance became like family to me. Plus, Kim and Keyocea are now two of the best friends I will ever have and I owe it all to Animal Kingdom! As a park greeter you have to work at the turnstiles and help the guests enter the park. In Dinoland you could be in games, Chester and Hester’s gifts, Dinosaur photo, or one of the gift carts around the area. While in Dinoland I mostly worked in games and wasn't even trained in the other areas until a couple months before we left. I had many adventures in the windy cold, the scorching heat, the crazy rain, and the beaming sunshine.

I lived in Vista Way! The oldest of the apartment complexes but we all thought it was the best. I lived in 2 different apartments while I was there. Originally we all lived in apartment 1509 but we had to move and ended up in apartment 1802. The original 6 roommates were me, Lakara, Melissa, Jenna, Lauren, and Caitlin. Lauren and Caitlin got into some trouble on St. Patrick’s Day and Caitlin was sent home, Lauren then decided to go home the next day. After that Colleen and Michelle moved in. Colleen stayed with us until the end but Michelle decided to go home after a couple months. After that we got Natasha, that isn't her real name though. She is from China and no one could pronounce her name so she chose to be called Natasha. She was with us until our program ended. We were all pretty good friends, although I was closest to Lakara and Jenna. We had a lot of fun and did a lot of crazy things together. I grew up a lot and learned tons about myself and the world while I was living in Vista Way and I owe a lot of that to my amazing roommates.

I made some of the best friends I will ever have while I was at Disney! Kim Gulyas is one of the greatest people I have ever met in my life. I never thought I could find a best friend at Disney but I can honestly say Kim is one of my best friends now. I made a bunch of other great friends along the way too. Most of them were co-workers since they were the people I saw most often so it was normal to bond with them. I miss them all so much! Keyocea, I miss the fun times we had just being crazy. Rob, I will miss our talks about soccer! Chris, it was sad that we only really hung out towards the end of your program but I am glad I got to know you. Karissa, those parade days were so fun, I will always remember you. Theresa, my Dinoland buddy, you were great and I wouldn't have survived games without you. Claire, I will come and visit you in Scotland soon hopefully! Brain, ahh my concert buddy, I wish we could have gotten to see more shows. Arthur, what can I say about you that everyone doesn't already know? There are many more people you can see on my friends’ page.

We did lots of things for fun at the parks and around Orlando. Sure most of what we did was Disney oriented because well... that is the only place the bus system goes. Going to the parks just to watch fireworks and get a turkey leg. Visiting Downtown Disney, Blizzard Beach, and Typhoon Lagoon were some more of the things we did to explore and have fun. Cirque du Soleil, Sea World, and Cocoa Beach were some more places we all went. I also spent some time at my aunt’s house in Orlando on her lake boating and having fun. Ohh and the parades!!
