how is it whenever you expect that you'll have free time, other things suddenly come up and ruin your moment of peace and quiet?  hmm.. well, i thought that i would have been having a great deal of time devoted all to myself once my classes were over, but it turns out that 2 weeks of my break have gone by and i can barely remember what happened during that time.  on dec. 24, my family went to maryland for a little christmas vacation, which was nice because at least i wasn't in michigan.  AND.. i got in touch with my girly side... i went shoppin.. hehe.  awesome outlet mall near hagerstown, if anyone is going that way.  anyway, i threw my money away, but miraculously i came home with $40 still in my pocket.  yeah.. also, i just turned 17, which isn't a big deal.  doesn't give me any more new privileges or responsibilities.  i think birthdays are a waste of time and effort, because in the end, nobody ends up coming to your party anyway.  hehe.. but, of course i may be biased because i haven't had a party since i was 8.  big deal.. the only thing i probably am missing out on is the money/gifts.  and, i need a lot of money because my books next semester are going to be another $400 coming out of my pocket.  *sigh*.. if only i could work... or find a rich boyfriend.. lol.  yeah right..  don't think i'm up for that aggravation just yet.  however, it is nice to have some great friends.. which i am finding that they are more difficult to come by.. maybe if i set foot out of my house i'll find some friends.  hmm.. things to ponder upon.  well, i'm gonna go now.. my fingers are too cold to go on any longer....

just counting down the minutes until the new year of 2003 comes.  not excited.. obviously, since i'm at home... working on my website.. hehe.. what a joyous occasion.  well, my mom tried to throw a little get-together which fizzled out in about 3 hours, but not before my dad managed to get me to play the piano so they could have a little hymn sing-along, which of course is what church people like to do.  so, only 3 people stayed, and one of them is sleeping on my bed.. hmm.. what a memorable new year's celebration... so many trials and regrets this past year.  hopefully this year will be even more eventful... preferably in a good way, but hey, at least the bad times remind you what life is really about...
