TPRS for Teaching Foreign Languages

Pros: 
          No spending money on new materials because doesn't use books (1).
          All eight intelligences are used (6).
          All parts of Blooms taxonomy are used (6).
          There are a lot of books, videos, seminars to help you find exactly how you will teach
            it.
          Support networks-website where teachers can talk about success, problems and
            exchange ideas.
          Tips are available to keep a class in control and how to give different kinds of tests (5).
          Sample lessons are available (4).
          Basic steps on how to teach are available (1).
          Even has help with 2,3,4th year classes (2).
          Teachers enjoy it because it allows accommodation and focuses on all language skills
            (3).
          Students show more interest because engage in their learning more (5).
 

Cons: 
          Administrators may be skeptic that new way of learning will serve it's purpose (5).
          Fear of trying something new may lead to administrators not being supportive (5).
          An understanding and trusting principal in needed to take full advantage of situation
             (5).
          No clear cut way on how to plan, prepare and receive training for this method.
          No training is required to teach but it is highly recommended, which adds skepticism.
          Not very clear on how to integrate reading and writing (4).
          Makes for a lot of guess work for the teacher during the first year of teaching.
          Makes for a lot of planning time to figure out what and how to do it which can be
             frustrating.
          Some students are unwilling to participate so makes the understanding difficult for
             them.
