Powershift was the first ever student summit on climate change and sustainability held on the University of Maryland's campus. Over 6000
college students attend the four day event. During the first two days we attended workshops and panels on various
topics related to sustainability and climate change.
On the last day we travelled to Washington D.C to talk to our
representatives and senators about their stand on the climae crisis and upcoming climate legislation.
We had a great crew of 40 people come and help with the cleanup. We pulled out 2 cars, 2 washing machines, and a refrigerator, among many other things and small scrap pieces. We had an awesome time and made a lot of progress.
