MarcoPolo- http://www.marcopolo-education.org/home.aspx
This website gives great detail for teachers. It features a huge library of lesson plans that teachers can look at and use. It has a fair amount of lesson plans that can be used in special education.
MEL contains tons of databases that can give you tons of information. I am a very big fan of Infotrac and I spend much time looking on there. All of the databases seem to be reliable and some require a login. All of the info about the author of each article can be found easily and the abstracts are very helpful.
Teacher Planet- http://www.teacherplanet.com/
Teacher planet gives much info in the form of freebees. It has lesson plans but also materials and programs. It allows much info to be displayed and found and has a handy search bar.
Wikipedia- www.wikipedia.com
This is a website that is useful when finding a quick definition that is phrased in a common sense way. It is not as technical because the information is added by a community of people. The information is reviewed by a group of individuals for validity but I wouldn’t suggest using this for a formal paper or scientific journal.
The Library of
Congress- http://www.loc.gov/index.html
The Library of Congress uses many forms of multimedia to
present information. It has Webcasts
that can be useful for the visual learner.
Also, this is not just for teachers, it can be
very useful for researchers.
