Albanian Language

Albanian is not similar to any other language and was first spoken from the Illyrians, Albanian descendents, thousands of years ago. Albanian is considered an indo-european language and is part of this family.

The Albanian alphabet consists of 36 letters. All the letters are like the ones in the latin alphabet, exept ç (ch as in chad) and ë (as in the). Double letters that are considered one letter like th, dh, ll, gj etc, add the number to 36.

Here is some basic Albanian:

Mirëdita (Hello)
Unë jam Landi, po ju kush jeni? (I am Landi, and you are?)
Sa vjeç jeni? (how old are you?)
Mirëupafshim (Goodbye)
