THE REUNION SURPRISE
This past weekend I got together with some old friends from High School, who had been away at school for the past several months. It was really great to see everyone, but I was really impressed by my friend Brooke. Brooke had been my friend since elementary school and I was really looking forward to seeing her again. She had always carried a few extra pounds, honestly probably about 50 and although she was always pretty, her weight held her back from a lot of life's opportunities. Now you always hear about people going away to school and putting on 20lbs in their Freshman year, so I figured for Brooke it would be more like 30lbs easily. Well, I can't tell you that when she walked into the restaurant, my friend of ten years, I didn't recognize her. As she approached the table, I saw the sparkle in her eyes and immediately jumped up to give her a hug. I couldn't stop staring at her. She was gorgeous and probably about a size 7. I told her how great she looked and we all started talking and catching up. She told us that she started taking diet pills when she went away to school, something that she had been wanting to do for year, but her mother wouldn't let her. Now with some freedom, she decided to give ephedra diet pills a try and honestly, she said that she couldn't be happier. She said that she has lost 43lbs and that she feels great. Again we all told her how amazing she looked. I don't even know if our focus was really on the actual weight loss, or her new found confidence with herself. She told us that she has a really hot boyfriend and she brought some pictures to show, and this guy looks and sounds incredible. He is an athlete, which she told us really helps because they eat right and exercise together. She says with him there is absolutely no pigging out, which is just what she needs.
It just goes to show that growing up can really change a person. I am really glad that her life is coming together for her, she is an incredible person and really deserves to look as beautiful on the outside as she has always been on the inside.

Scaring away the Bad Guys
I was watching a documentary a few years ago about crimes committed in the home. They ranged from small burglaries where no one got hurt to murder. At the end of the show there was a special about how to protect your family and home from these kinds of crimes happening to you. Among several options like having lights on timers and locking the door, which seems surprising but when you think about it there have been times when I was running late or my hands were full and I neglected to lock it, they mentioned getting a home alarm. What they also mentioned which I really had never thought of before was getting a sign in your window or in your lawn of an alarm system company even if you do not have a home alarm installed. This is a good option for people who cannot afford a security system or who are maybe renting (like in college) and are not allowed to install devices like a home alarm.
It is also important to know about your home and what kind of alarm is right for you and your lifestyle. I have heard of some alarms like the GE Simon XT that would be great for a family who needs fire protection as well as burglary protection. It is crucial to look into and explore several different kinds of systems and companies before you commit to one. You can have consults in your home to find out what type fits your needs.
Having a wireless home alarm is also an option for many people. This way you can have sensors in the doorways and rooms. It just makes you feel safer knowing that the alarm system you have fits into your lifestyle whether you get up at 2 am for a pudding snack or you bulldog likes to roam around, you need to take into consideration your everyday movements and needs. Some people get alarms just for the sake of going out of town or on vacation. My uncle lives alone with his wife and travels a lot and a home alarm system is something that she needs in order to feel safe being home by herself for days or even weeks at a time. So while you may not think that having to go to the bathroom at 4 am every morning is an important fact, you may need to consider it when looking into what alarm is best for you.

THE LUAU PARTY
Planning a party can really be a lot of fun. I enjoy coming up with a theme and collecting all the best party supplies for the best prices. A few weeks ago I threw a luau party for my friends birthday, and did we have a blast. It didn't look like it was going to come together at first. A friend and I were planning it together and I really thought that we were going to kill each other over the planning of it. We just had really different ideas about what to do, but then I thought that the best way to handle the party planning issues was to each do a part. I had her get the menu together and this way she could do whatever she wanted with the party menu and I could focus on the decorations. I went online and got some great ideas and I built a volcano in the backyard. I made hula skirts and lays and everything came out really great. I did have to buy some of the party supplies, but I was able to do a lot of them myself which was a big savings. I didn't even go crazy when she showed up with glow sticks and glow necklaces for the party, which were cute but off theme, I just tried to roll with it. Well, she did a really great job with the menu. We had pineapple and other fruits as appetizers. We had coconut milk and this great fruity punch. For dinner we had shish kabobs which came out really great with some Hawaiian seasonings. Desert consisted of the traditional birthday cake with a hoola girl on the front of it and was really cute.
Over all, I think that everyone really had a great time at the party, I know I did. Everything fell into place really nicely, and seeing the surprised look on my friend's face was incredible. After all, I only told her she was coming over for dinner to celebrate her birthday and when she found out that dinner was for 40 she was really shocked. It was a great time for all, the only part that I hated was the clean up the next morning. Having a party is always a lot of fun, but the after party mess, I could really live without.

Getting online insurance quotes
I really wonder how the current financial issues in our nation's economy will effect the auto insurance industry. It seems right now that the car insurance industry is handling this economic downturn rather well. Insurance quotes seem to be not only holding steady but even going down across the board. So what does this mean to you? Well, quite honestly, it means that it is time to shop around for car insurance and see if you can get a better rate than the one that you are currently getting. Recent surveys in the industry show that more and more people are accessing insurance information from the web and many more are using this as their primary way to not only choose, but to purchase insurance. This is a really good time to get online and find a low quote on auto insurance, and don't be afraid to shop around, there are many good reliable insurance companies out there that want your business and are willing to offer you a deal. The best way to do this is to follow these easy steps:
1. Find out what insurance coverage you currently hold on your vehicle, including deductibles and limitations.
2. Go online and just type in get car insurance quotes or cheap car insurance. Then get together a list of insurance companies, their website information, and how much they will be charging you for a policy.
3. Be sure to get about 10 quotes and check both the big and the little insurance companies.
4. If you come up with a great quote from an insurance company you have never heard of, check them out with the better business bureau and do a google search to check them out. If there is something bad to know you can usually find it out using these 2 methods.
5. Pick the best rate and insurance company for you and get on board. You can try to get your current insurance company to match your new rate and keep you, if that is more desirable for you.
With the help of the internet, you can probably find a new insurance company with a better rate in a matter of a few hours, and can be paying less for your auto insurance by morning. Why not take the time to get the ball rolling and start saving money on your car insurance today?

AN INCREDIBLE TEA PARTY
I had never heard of it before but I was invited last week to a tea party. That's right just like people have jewelry parties and stuff like that where they sell stuff, this was a tea party held by a friend of mine who sells wholesale tea. She has been peddling teas for a long time now, and I just never realized how delicious and beneficial drinking tea could be. I have always drank coffee and had the occasional cup of tea when I was sick, but that was about the extent of it. Well, I figured going to this tea party would be a good idea, after all, not only would I be supporting my friend, but I would also have the opportunity to meet some new people in the area. I brought my roommate with me, so I would know at least one other person besides the hostess. What a great evening! I learned all about different teas and tea leaves and all about the health benefits of drinking tea. The hostess told about the benefits of herbal tea and its soothing effects and also told about white tea and its heart and skin benefits. I never thought about tea as a healer, but she went on to tell that all teas are very high in natural antioxidants, which we all know help protect you against cancer. The best thing about this party is that after she was done presenting the products we got to taste all different teas, and had some cookies and some cake with them. It was nice to get to taste some different teas, and I found that I really wasn't that crazy about black tea and green tea, however I did really like mint tea and white tea. Of course at the end of the party they offered you to buy some teas and I bought a box of mint and a box of white tea. They also offered you to become a representative and to have parties yourself, I did take the informational brochures home with me, however, I really don't think that I will do it, because I am just not the selling type, if you know what I mean, but the products were great!

the best mma clothing
My husband has always wanted to fight. Since the time he was younger he has been into boxing and martial arts and he loves ultimate fighting. He recently began pursuing it as a career, which quite honestly didn't thrill me, but I have always believed that two people when they are together need to support each other's dreams. I have always believed that if there is something that you want to do, just do it. Last year, when he first began talking about this, I really wanted to let him know that I was on board with the whole thing, so at Christmas time, I bought him some fight posters and some gym mats, and a heavy bag. Apparently I wasn't so well versed at buying fighting equipment though, because the heavy bag that I purchased was one that you stuff yourself, and somehow we couldn't get the weight and consistency just right, so this past year, I bought him a new one for his birthday and I just gave him the money and sent him to a big sporting goods store to go pick one out himself. He got it and we have since set up everything in the basement including the punching bag that he had from when he was a kid. Honestly, our basement is not finished, so it actually looks like a boxing gym from the old days. Now with Christmas coming he is telling me he wants some mma clothing and I really think that once again, I am going to let him pick out what he wants. I don't really feel comfortable picking stuff for him and especially as far as mma clothing is concerned, he needs a good fit, so I think that we will just maybe shop together for what he wants and then I will wrap it and put it under the tree. There is nothing like getting a present you can't use at Christmas to put a real damper on the day, so I think that letting him pick out his own stuff is just the way to go. I will still get him some little surprises that he doesn't know about, but chances are I will not attempt to purchase anymore martial arts equipment on my own, after all I was not so successful at it.

Schumacher homes are spectacular
All the talk in the housing market is saying it is not the time to buy or sell, but I personally have not found that to be the case. I am very excited about the new home that we just bought. We needed to relocate for my wife's job and so we had to sell our home, which by the way went really well. We were able to sell it in about 2 months, which is a fact that still amazes all our friends, and we got a fair price for it, which again leaves people in amazement. We went shopping for a new home, but when we did, we found that each home, was, well, not quite what we were looking for. We figured since we were relocating, we really wanted to find a home that we could stay in for the remainder of our existence, so we really wanted it to be just right. We were finally pointed in the right direction by a friend of ours who said you have to check out Schumacher homes. I wasn't sure why, but then he went on to tell us that Schumacher homes were by far the best homes on the market. They design custom homes, designed especially for you with all the features you want. I thought this sounded like a great option since we both had pictured in our minds what we wanted, but we just couldn't find what was in our minds out there in the "real world". We sat down with one of their custom design specialists and we told them what we wanted and that is exactly what we got. Our new home is exactly what we wanted it to be. I never really thought that we could get close to what we wanted, much less the exact home that we had both always dreamed of. The layout is incredible and there are lots of windows and vaulted ceilings. It is just perfect. After our home was finished, we sent our friend who recommended Schumacher to us a thank you gift. I don't know what we would have wound up with, if we hadn't gotten a custom made home designed exactly to our specifications. It is not only incredible, but it didn't even cost us much more than we would have paid for a home straight off the market. Great price, great home, amazing.

considering debt consolidation
I have been trying to determine lately, with the economy being in the state it is in, whether it is a good idea to pay off all my bill balances with my extra cash, or save my extra money for when the whole economy collapses. Well, I went online and began researching this and I came across some information on debt consolidation that I found quite helpful. I never really thought about this, but you can really save a lot more money if you pay off your bills more quickly. With interest building daily it is really a very good idea to get those bills paid off. When I looked at my own bills, I realized that paying the minimum monthly payments was getting me nowhere fast. I needed a better financial plan, but I really didn't have a clue where to begin. I actually was so impressed with what I read, that I decided I need further help in reducing my debt and so I contacted a debt consolidation company and got the ball rolling on getting my bills paid off fast. I didn't really realize how much that compounding interest was adding up and pulling money out of my pocket each month and year that it was hanging unresolved.
Now I really feel good because the debt consolidators helped me get a real grip on all my monthly payments. They stopped the interest from accruing and helped me set up budgeted monthly payments to help get my debt paid off much more quickly than I could ever have done on my own. I never realized all of the services a debt consolidation company provides.
It has been wonderful working with someone who could really help me improve my financial situation without me having to pay out all my extra cash to bills every month. Now I have a plan and I know that if I keep up with my payments every month, I should have all my debt paid off within 15 months, and I will also have money every month to put aside in case of emergency. Now I can rest knowing that I am saving and paying down my debt at the same time. What a relief!

Natural Diet Pill
On television now, no matter what station you are watching you see celebrities. Some of them are inspiring others you want to wring their necks, but all of them we see in the media either in a positive or negative way. Teenagers now look up to celebrities. They tend to idolize them and want to be more like them. So businesses use this as a selling tool. There is such a wide range of products that are being advertised by celebrities. You always see make up and beauty products (even skin care and acne products) being promoted with celebrities in the commercials. The idea is that anyone can look the way they do (and most teenage girls want nothing other than to look like the celebrity that they adore) just by using that product.
So many things have been tried, but I think one of the biggest celebrity endorsements include workout gear, and diet pills. I'm pretty sure everyone (or at least almost everyone that I know) at least one time in their life wished that they could have the same body that a certain movie star or singer has, especially high school and college girls. So when they see that celebrity or one like them promoting a diet pill, they think right away that if they buy that product they could look like that.
I recently saw a celebrity that I really like and admired endorsing a natural diet pill. She went on and on in the commercial (and there was even a magazine ad as well) about how this natural diet pill helped her lose her baby weight and get slim for a red carpet event. The commercial however didn't make me want to purchase the product; instead it turned me off to the celebrity and the product over all. It makes me sad that celebrities have to resort to endorsing diet pills, especially when they know that young women are looking up to them. Even though it is considered a ‘healthier' natural diet pill, celebrities (or at least this one for sure) make enough money that they can pick and choose to endorse what they want. They should think about the fact that young women are looking up to them and think about promoting something healthier, like a health food or even exercise equipment or a charity. Young people (especially women) need positive and healthy role models growing up and those famous people should recognize this and use their fame in a more positive way.

Oakville Web Designing for your Business
Oakville Web Design Companies help small businesses to create an online presence and get their name out there in a professional manner. If you go to the website: http://www.awebsitedesigns.com/, you can find a lot more about the Oakville web design. It has been helping clients for 12 years now and has expanded more than ever.
Web Design in Oakville now offers so many aspects of web designing to better your company including: web designing for your business, web hosting, dynamic database programming, corporate branding, search engine marketing, professional copywriting services, e-commerce solutions, business consultation, and so much more. Their web design varies based on the client and their needs and is customized for the results that the client is looking for. Every website is different and Oakville web design helps to design a page for companies that will help that particular business grow and receive more positive attention.
The World Wide Web is where so many things happen now a days. In one week I go online to check my email, shop, download music, look up movie times, research for class, look up my grades, go on facebook, check my bank balance and talk with my friends among so many other things. In anyone of these online experiences, I see advertisements on every page or what I am doing. When I go on facebook, the side of the screen shows advertisements for food on campus and businesses and even when I check my balance in my online banking account I see ads. These companies got their name out by putting it on other websites that people use daily. A company like Oakville web design helps to do just that. It gets your name out there to people in their everyday environment on websites that they trust, like chase banking. By seeing your name over and over it makes me wonder what your business is all about so I click on the link and go to your website. Websites are such a great way to get out there because they are free and so many people have access to them. And by advertising you can make money as well.
By building an online account and web page for your business you are able to portray your company in a positive and professional way for so many people to see and gain interest for. So while some people aren't fit to do the web designing on their own, it is definitely worth getting someone or a company to do it for you in order to increase your business.

Taking advantage of vacation rentals
Breaks and vacations are a weird time in college life. Everybody looks forward to them, and they have (especially spring break) a reputation about them: break is when you are supposed to let go, go all out, take a little vacation from your busy school life.
The problem is that most college students don't have any money. And your professors have given you lots of homework over the break (I am assuming ot keep us honest). And airfare and hotels and just vacationing in general are sooo expensive. So you stay at the dorm.
I had a fantastic spring break – last years, in fact. My ex roommate is fantastic at finding reasonable vacation rentals, and plane tickets to Puerto Rico can be, as it turns out, less expensive than a ticket to California. By quite a bit. So my roommate did her research and worked her magic and found us a very cheap hotel (the trick, apparently, is to go for the hotels that, instead of being directly on the beach, are across the street), and we spent four days of our break in Puerto Rico.
I felt very adventurous. We managed to figure out how to get a rental car and how to find the rain forest and even the bioluminescent bay full of bioluminescent plankton. The bioluminescent bay was the most expensive part of the trip once we were there. Really, it was idyllic, one of those vacations that you dream about but do not think actually exist anywhere for anyone.
I just wish that I had that same intuition my old roommate has when it comes to researching travel stuff. I have often wondered how she knows where to look for these deals.

Donating cars for good will
There are many people cutting back these days, and that is sending people to thrift stores and good will and some of the places where you can get a real deal. I have always believed in recycling things that I can no longer use, and everyone in my whole family has always given stuff to good will for as long as I can remember. Back when I was growing up, whenever we had clothes that no longer fit us, mom would pack them up and give them to good will. They were always in good condition and back then I really thought that they went to needy people. Now that I am older, I have a better understanding about how good will works, and that you donate stuff and they sell it to make money. Now a days, they even take donations of cars. If you have enough money then donating your cars for good will when you are through with them is a really great thing to do. This brings in some really great revenue for Good Will that they can then turn around and use to help a lot of people.
With times getting tough, people will need to give now more than ever. As time goes on I am afraid that we will see more people out of work and out of money. This will mean that more people will need the help of organizations like Good Will that can help people get training and get the work that they will need to keep them going. It is important that if you have things that you don't need that you donate them to a charity like Good Will. You will feel good in knowing that you used something you had to help someone else.
There is a saying that what you give you will receive. It is important to give while you have it, because one day when you don't you may need the services from a food bank or Good Will or some other great organization that helps people. When you do, you will be relying on someone else's generosity for your survival.

Fashion over the Years
It is weird to see some of the clothes our parents wore coming back into style. When we look at pictures of our parents when they were our age we think about how ridiculous they looked and how goofy they dressed. And it is funny because we tend to think that one day when we have kids they won't feel the same way. The way we dress seems normal and timeless, but I'm sure that our parents probably felt that way too. So when tights came back into style it seemed like just the beginning of a fashion come back.
My freshman and sophomore year and even now tights were the thing to wear. It didn't matter what you wore, tights went with the outfit. The other day a girl in my sorority came over with dressy jeans shorts on and she had tights under them. No one questions tights anymore. They seem to be acceptable in any and every form they are worn in. When they first were ‘cool', we wore them under our jean skirts because there was a dress code so we could get away with wearing really tiny skirts because the rest of our legs were covered. We would see so many different kinds and styles too. Most of them were black at first, but then they started making colored tights and tights that stopped above the ankle and had lace on them. My favorite pair was a grey pair with lace around the bottom that I would wear under my jeans with a cute polo.
Regardless of what the current style is, whether it is wearing tights under everything or even with nothing over them (which you see a lot too) or UGG boots or last year scarves were really popular even though they weren't necessary, it is funny to see how fast things catch on and spread. Right now the front of your hair on one side in a braid is really in and you see people everywhere doing it. I go to school in Muncie, Indiana and I went to visit a friend who goes to school in Champaign, Illinois last weekend and I saw people walking around with heir hair like that. It is just so crazy to see how far people will go to look like someone that probably was trying to look like an individual in the first place.

reading restaurant reviews
Recently I was reading the local paper and stumbled across the restaurant reviews and in there I found information about several local restaurants. I had never really read these reviews before, however, after reading them I found a lot of the information that was in them to be true. For instance, one of the reviews was actually from a local Chinese restaurant that I frequent because it is right up the road. It is a nice little place, family run, and is usually very clean and the people are very nice. The food is so so, but the service is slow. These people wouldn't know speed, if it jumped up and bit them. Well, this is almost exactly what the food critic described. Since I found his opinions found so close to my own, I wanted to learn more from him about the best and worst restaurants in the area. I have only been here for a few months, and except for a few local places, I have not ventured too far out of the box. This guy gave some great reviews on a few of the restaurants down near the local mall, and some of them he gave 5 stars, which in this paper is his very best rating. He even went to some of these places when they were very busy, and still he got good quality food, fast and friendly service, and was very happy with the overall experience.
Well, I am really anxious to try one of his suggestions and I will be going to a place that he gave 5 stars to this weekend when my parents come to town. I am always afraid that my mom, who is I must admit a bit of a snob, won't like my choice of restaurants and will make a face. She would never make a stink, at least not until we are in car, but I still want her to be happy with her meal and the service and atmosphere. My father is much easier to please. As long as he can eat the food and the waitress or waiter is not a total idiot, then he is happy. I am really hoping after this meal we can all leave happy. I guess I will find out this weekend if my opinion and the restaurant reviews match up.

Setting up a merchant account
Running an Ebay business is a lot of fun, but it can sometimes be a big headache. Lately, I have been told that I should really start being able to accept credit cards, and so I started looking into opening a merchant account. I always thought that there was just one company that you contacted about getting set up for credit card processing, but that is not the case. There are so many companies out there, when you bring this type of information up online, you would be amazed. I had to do quite a bit of researching before I signed on with a company. First I had to find out what they required to open a merchant account and then I learned things about securing my site to be able to safely and securely accept online payments without having to worry about someones personal information being stolen. I also needed to learn about the actual paperwork involved in taking credit cards. It all seemed a little bit overwhelming at first, but after I contacted a few companies by phone, I started to have a much better understanding for the whole merchant account thing. I love being able to access the internet, because there are so many great resources and information sources out there that can breakdown even the most complicated process into the little baby steps I need to get through each task.
Now I have finally gotten my merchant account set up and I actually understand the whole process. I am very pleased that I was able to make it through the whole process with just a little bit of research and some elbow grease. Don't get me wrong, the first credit card payment I took, I was a little bit nervous. It all just seemed to easy, but now I am rolling along, and I am really glad that I can process my own credit card payment myself without having to use a middle man like Paypal, which quite honestly, I hate paying them all those fees to do something for me that I can do myself. Why pay someone else for taking a payment, when you can set up your very own merchant account and start taking those Master Card & Visa payments today.

Getting car insurance quotes
These days if you can save even a penny, you should definitely do it. I have never been a spendthrift as a matter of fact, some might call me cheap. Even before the economic issues that are currently weighing on everyone's mind, I would always spend as little as I could on anything I bought. It just never really made any sense to me at all to spend more money than I have to for anything. Now everyone is doing it, but I was doing it before it was the "in thing". A friend of mine and I went to lunch, with a coupon of course, because I always have to get the deal. Anyway, we were discussing the hard financial issues that many families are facing these days, and she was telling me that she has been trying to find ways to cut back on her expenses, but she hasn't been able to save much money yet. I started talking to her about shopping around for her monthly expenses such as phone, internet, and cable. I told her to also shop around for car insurance rates, as many companies will offer you a cheap car insurance rate, especially if you put your other insurance with them as well. She said that she had tried this one time in the past, and that she didn't have much luck and back then the rate she was getting was about the best she had gotten from anyone, and she was sure that hadn't changed. Then I began to tell her that car insurance quotes were based on many different factors, which not only included her driving record, but her credit score, age, and other factors that she may not even be aware. I told her that I make sure to check my coverage about once every 3 months, to make sure that I am still getting the best deal on my car insurance, and several times I have switched because I have found a better deal elsewhere. I told her the very first time I switched insurance companies I saved over $500 per year. She was amazed. She asked me which insurance company I had switched to and of course I told her, but I also told her that insurance is a funny thing, sometimes a company that can save one person a lot of money, may have higher rates for someone else. This is why it is so important to shop around either online or over the phone for insurance. Finding the best rate for you can save you a lot of money in the long run.

FORECLOSURES FOR SALE - SHOULD YOU BUY?
How much worse will the economy get? This is a question that most of us are thinking about. When you look around you and you see foreclosure listings growing and no one really seems to know what is happening with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, it just seems that the whole thing is in shambles. If you are financially sitting okay right now it might be a good idea to get some preforeclosure leads and foreclosures for sale, and a great resource to do this is the Inman news. One of the keys to bargain foreclosure home buying opportunities is the importance of good reliable foreclosure listings and this is just what the Inman news provides you with. They can help you access the latest information in the real estate market as well as help you to find homes in the foreclosure housing market, which includes lot of resources including HUD information and listings.
A lot of people are thinking that this economic downturn will be around for a while, and so there are not as many people looking to buy homes and a whole lot of people who are looking to sell or who are being foreclosed on. Houses are being added to the foreclosure listings hourly and for those who have some money put aside these homes may be a truly wise investment. After all, you can fix them up and still sell them and turn a profit or you can rent them out. With more people being displaced and needing to rent instead of own, this could provide you with the stability of income you will need through the tough times. Owning a few properties, you can bring in quite a sizable sum per month, while also helping others to access some affordable housing. This is a good solution for both those who are wealthy and those who are not. Loans may not be readily available to all, however, those who have impeccable credit and who are not over extended should still be able to get approved for a loan to buy a foreclosure. If you rent it out then you are just about guaranteed to be able to make the mortgage payments, and when the economy bounces back you will make a killing.
