THE OFFSHORE BANKING OPTION
Many people don't ever even think about offshore banking, but there are quite a number of benefits to keeping your money or at least part of your money in an offshore account. One of the biggest reasons that people use this type of account is to keep their money from being heavily taxed. Keeping your money in an account of this type can also protect your money if you were going to be sued or have a judgment served against you. It serves as a safety net, is completely legal, and can protect your personal and financial information from being accessible to courts and other government officials.
Although, mostly used by the very wealthy, these types of accounts can be used by the average person as well and serve well not only to protect against taxes and liens, but also to protect against divorce settlements and so forth. For some unknown reasons, there is no governmental body that governs these accounts so they are basically out of reach from the government.
Many people who have considered opening this type of account, aren't really sure what there options are or how to get started. The internet has really opened up the information availability helping more people than ever before start their very own offshore account. There are many different companies that can help you get started. Personally, I use an Anguilla company for one of my accounts and have found that it has been relatively easy to set up and really only takes a few days. There is also a Dominica company that I have heard is very good, but I haven't personally dealt with them. A friend of mine who also is involved in offshore banking has worked with them and they come very highly recommended.
There are many different options of things that you can do with your money, but for me I have truly found that having an offshore account makes the most sense, especially now with the US economy being so weak and it effecting the overall economy of the world. I know that my money is safer in my off shore account than it would be in the conventional banking system, and this way I know that if the banks go under, my money is still safe and secure and waiting for me.

INSURANCE QUOTES MADE SIMPLE WITH GOOGLE
Got online this morning thinking that it would be easy to find some temporary short term health insurance quotes, but it was not as simple as I thought. I thought it would just take me a few minutes to find a really good quote and then I would be on my way to purchasing some health insurance. Well, when I first got online I started my search and next thing I knew I was accessing all kinds of insurance information. I found lots of information about health insurance leads, which perhaps would have been more helpful if I was an agent, but I was able to access some health insurance information through these sites. It just wasn't exactly what I was looking for. Then I found some other health insurance related sites, but all they wanted to give me information about was an auto insurance policy, which was helpful, but again, I felt like I was spinning around in circles. Then I wound up on a site that only offered senior auto insurance rates, and I knew that I was really off track.
Well, I am not sure why every time I get online to look up what I think to be some basic information about a topic, I get all off course and wind up finding everything except what I am intending. I spoke to a friend at class, and she asked what search engine I was using, and I told her I really didn't have a clue. She told me that could make all the difference when I was looking up information about health insurance, auto insurance or anything else. She said that I really needed to be using a reliable search engine like google, or msn or something. She said that could be why I never seem to be able to find what I am looking for. Well, I told her I would be sure to get on google when I get home and sure enough it made a world of difference. Now I am able to look up anything that I need quickly and simply. It feels good to finally have arrived in the 21st Century.

WHY BUY ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE?
If you are like me than you have probably thought to yourself why buy antivirus software? Well, unfortunately for me I learned this lesson the hard way. I always thought your computer came with all the antivirus software it needed and that all computer virus removal programs were the same, but that was certainly not the case. One day I noticed that my computer seemed to be running slowly, and thought that there was just a problem with the network, and didn't give it too much thought. When I shut my computer down for the night, I didn't realize that I was saying goodnight to it for the very last time. In the morning, I awoke and grabbed my morning cup of coffee and proceeded to turn on my computer to check my e-mails, as I had done for the past few months. To my surprise I could not get it to come on. I panicked and called my local repair shop right away. I took it in and they told me the bad news, my computer was gone. It had been taken over by a virus and would not return. With it went all of my pictures, documents and personal information. I was devastated, and when the guy asked me what type of antivirus software I was running in it, I told him that I really didn't have a clue, whatever it came with I supposed. Fortunately for me, the guy had another computer handy and he sold it to me for a really good price. He showed me the antivirus programs that it had in it, and explained to me the importance of keeping them updated so that they could most effectively protect my software. He also explained to me the importance of keeping my computer clean and deleting potentially harmful e-mails immediately. He said that it was also important to keep my computer shut off when it was not in use, he said that the longer your computer stays on the more harmful stuff can get into it. I came home and was glad to have a new computer to use, and it worked really well, unfortunately there was nothing I could do about my lost files. You better believe I will be more careful next time, for sure.

MORE THOROUGH BACKGROUND CHECKS
Whether you are looking for a job, or you are responsible for recruiting new employees, you need to be aware that more and more companies are doing complete background checks on people. Perhaps it is because so many more people are applying for jobs in all different fields, they feel that they can have their pick and they want to pick from the best of the best. The days of just putting anything down on your resume are gone. If you put something on your resume, you best be able to back it up, because companies will do a complete check to see if the information you have provided is accurate. It used to be that these types of stringent background checks were used only for medical jobs and government jobs, however, now everyone wants to know what you have been doing and they will check out not only your employment references and your personal references, but many will do a criminal background check as well, to make sure that you are not in any sort of trouble before they hire you.
I know for me this has really changed the information on my resume. It used to be that whatever was on your resume or application was taken at face value, and perhaps they would contact your most recent employment reference but that was it. I went for a job and the person told me that I had to sign all these authorization forms for them to check out everything, and it scared me, so now I have made sure that all my information is correct to the letter. I didn't get that job, and I am convinced that is because of the background checks that company had made. Don't get me wrong, I am not a criminal or anything, and I really do understand why it is important to a company to know who they are hiring, I just don't see why they need to know where you worked 10 years ago and why you left, I think that is a bit over the top. Whatever. Anyway, I am just putting all this down, so that you don't get surprised when you are applying for a job, because they really will check you out and you need to be prepared.

HOME SECURITY SYSTEMS ARE A NECESSITY
Okay, so we all know that the economy is not exactly soaring these days. We know that the most we know about where it is heading is south, but no one really is telling us how bad it is going to get. If you are a person who has anything of material value, then it is a good time to look into home security systems. Desperate times will bring out desperation in people, and crime will probably rise, so it is a good time to invest in ways to increase personal security.
Many people think that alarms systems are very expensive, however, personally I have priced wireless alarm systems, and they are actually relatively inexpensive. Sure most companies want you to get the monitoring package along with the system, but in my opinion that only makes good sense. After all, you want to know that if the alarm goes off that someone is sending help. Just having an alarm sound, may serve as a slight deterrent, however, if I am really in trouble, then I want to know that help is on the way.
Before looking into purchasing your alarm system, it is a good idea to learn a little bit about the field and what options are available to you. There are some great informational resources like 50 Ways to enhance home security and the security camera buyers guide that can help you learn a little bit more about alarm systems, security cameras, monitoring devices, locks and so much more.
Keeping your family safe can be very important during tough financial times, and knowing the best way to go about doing this is useful information to say the least. My personal recommendation is to get an alarm system for your residence. It can give you peace of mind, whether you have left the kids home alone, or are just trying to get a restful nights sleep. It is nice to know that someone is watching over you and your family and are ready to send help at a moments notice. You really can't put a price on your life or the lives of your family...can you?

UNICARE HELPS ME FIND AFFORDABLE INSURANCE COVERAGE
A recent life change sent me looking for Auto Insurance Quotes. I didn't realize that my car insurance was costing me an arm and a leg, it seemed like it was a really good deal when I purchased it. Somehow, gradually they increased my premiums, and now I am actually paying much more than I started with.
Well, I lost my job and I found myself online trying to scramble and find any way I could to save money and also get health insurance, since my policy through my old employer was going to run out. I started looking up health insurance companies and Christian health insurance, because someone told me that they found a really great company by searching it that way. I came across a company called Unicare and was very impressed with their service. They helped me to find a health insurance company that met all my needs. I couldn't believe that it was so simple to match a company with my needs. Within just a few minutes I had several matches and was on my way to finding the insurance I was in need of.
I really thought that this would be a great service for researching auto insurance also, and did some intensive searching on auto insurance until I found a really reasonable rate, about half of my current premiums, which was excellent, especially now that I am out of work.
I really never thought that I would be unemployed and going through all this stuff. I really thought that I had job security and that being out of work was something that other people were dealing with. Then one day, I was told that my job was making cut backs, and that meant I didn't have a job, the end. My recommendation to everyone is to act as if you don't have job now. Save your money and make as many cut backs as you can to put aside some money. Doing this will prepare you for what ever comes next. You may not need it, but in case you do it will be nice to know that you are prepared. I wasn't and now I am struggling because of it.

How to handle debt negotiation
As of now my semester has finally ended and I am about to go home but with a little less zeal than I had been hoping for. Everyone in the country knows that we are currently facing a pretty slippery situation in terms of the debt and credit markets. Finances all over the nation are falling apart and it's not looking to pleasant in the future for now. Being in college, most of us are extremely insulated to the nitty gritty of this thing that news stations are calling a crisis. For us it has just been a convenient excuse to learn something about economics. Unfortunately for me though it is something a little closer to home than I would have liked.
My parents called me last week to tell me that they are slimming down our christmas celebration this year because they had some pretty bad issues going on financially. This fall my father lost his job as a result of his company being forced to downsize during this recession. Because of the time lag between when he lost his job and when he found his new oe a couple of weeks ago they had to survive based on their savings ad then their credit. Unfortunately they used a little bit too much credit and now they can't pay. They are at the point where they won't be able to pay their bills for at least a couple of months if they want to keep paying their mortgage. So what they are going to be doing next week is making a plan for their debt negotiation. They want to show the credit card company that they are on their way out of their debt but that it will take longer than a couple of months to pay of what they own them specifically. They're going to have to hire someone to work out some form of debt reduction or hopefully even a debt settlement which would cut their bill to the company in half. It's pretty sad that this is what I have to think about before I go home for vacation but I know my parents and I know that they are strong people who ca pull themselves through something like this.

BABY PHAT SNEAKERS FOR CHRISTMAS
I am very much looking forward to spending Christmas with my family. My schedule doesn't allow me too much time to get together with them, so when I get the opportunity to, I am truly grateful for it.
My mother called me about a week ago and wanted to know what I wanted for Christmas. I told her that I wasn't sure, but I knew that I wanted to get a new pair of sneakers and that I wanted a pair like my other pair Baby Phat. They are these really great sneakers, that are outrageously stylish, and they just last and last. I told her that they weren't the same as the Phat Farm sneakers, they were made by the same company, but the one's I wanted were the Baby Phat one's with the paint splashes on them. I told her that I wanted them to be white and they had to be high tops. I didn't know if there were other ones out there with the paint splashes done in different colors, so I told her that they had orange and purple and pink in them, just to be sure that she bought the right ones. With my mother, if you are too vague or general, you will definitely wind up with something totally different than what you are asking for or expecting, which I wouldn't really mind, except I really can't afford to spend the money and buy them myself and they are just so comfortable and the Baby Phat brand really stands up well.
Anyway, while we were on the phone, I asked her what she wanted for Christmas and she told me that she wanted pajamas, but that is what she asks me for every year, and so this year I wanted to do something a little different. I went over to Kohl's and bought her pajamas, and while I was there they were having an incredible sale on jewelry and so I was able to get her a very pretty necklace which only cost me about $20 after all the discounts. It was definitely worth much more than that, but if you have ever shopped at Kohl's then you know that their deals can be incredible, if you shop on the right day. Anyway, I know that she will be surprised and I am very much looking forward to spending the holidays together.

Antiquing
Antiquing is something that my great grandma loved to do. When I was little we would go to a bunch of antique shops and look around. I didn't always understand the appeal, but now that I am a lot older (and in line to get some of her antique jewelry) I appreciate it a lot more.
I remember my friends mom looked everywhere for this vintage antique collectible dress. The dresses had a ton of detail on them and they were worn by people who were on the titanic (she had some sort of obsession with the titanic). But the dresses really were amazing. They had jewels on them and so much more detail then you would ever see on a dress now. And they were covered with silks and different colors.
I also heard about my roommate's professor collecting antique Christmas lights. Now that I think is really cool. I never got to see them but she was telling us about them and they were all different shapes and would look so cool (I love holiday decorations, especially white Christmas lights).
Although I have never really had the energy r the desire to go out and antique, I feel like maybe when I am older I would. I don't really have a lot of patience to look around everywhere for one specific thing and I am not really into collecting items (yet, who knows maybe one day I will be). But if I am out and I come across an antique shop, I will almost always go in and take a look around. You can usually find something that is really cool and stands out for yourself or something that you know would be perfect for someone you know or a close friend.
I do also like the shows on TV where you have to guess how much the antiques cost. I think it is really interesting to hear about their histories and how rare they are and how much they are worth. I couldn't believe how much some of the items were one time last year when I was watching the show. They had spoons (like the kind you eat with) for thousands of dollars and people were fighting over them. It seems kind of weird to me, but on the other hand those items may be really important to someone else. I guess it is true when they say one man's junk is another man's treasure.

Political Expressions
Young people are supposed to have had a huge impact on the election this year. So many of us are well informed and excited to get out there and stand up for what we believe in and the issues that we stand for. People are expressing their political views in so many ways now. They will have bumper stickers or McCain or Obama t-shirts or even post who they are voting for on their face book status. Political t-shirts are all over the place and they are such a statement. I have even seen coffee mugs and buttons that people wear all around campus. People go to all lengths to support their candidate and their beliefs.
I think as a 21 year old I represent the generation that is coming on strong politically. We are making it a point to get involved and to learn more about the candidates and really decide for ourselves who we want to run our country. We finally have a say and I think it is obviously that it was my generation that made a big impact on this year's election.
What I do like about this year's election and getting to be in college while it was happening was that I got to meet the candidates. I didn't personally talk to them one on one, but they both came to the university I attend at some point (or somewhere near that I went to see) and spoke to us and stuck around for questions. You could really tell that they knew we would make a big impact.
It is nice to be able to hold that kind of power. Whether or not the person I voted for was elected, I know that my vote was important and that I am capable of a lot of things. The fact that this election was hugely geared towards my age group shows that even the president of the United States knows we are going to make a huge impact on this country in some way.
So whether it is a political t-shirt that you are wearing to express your view point or a paper you are writing for class or a rally you are going to, you need to make sure you are well-informed and you are making a decision that is right for you and standing behind it because it we speak out as a generation, we really can make a difference.

DISCOUNT CARPET TILES FROM THE UK
Redecorating can be so much fun. I love to change around rooms and colors and I especially love to move around the furniture. I have always changed around the furniture in my room, even when I was a child. After a little while, everything just looks a little blase and I need change.
As a student, however, living on a modest means, I can't always get what I want when I want it. I have found that I have to shop around a lot to find the great deals and get clearance items and stuff, but I have still been able to redecorate a little bit. Recently, I had had enough of the carpet in my bedroom, and really felt that it needed to be changed. The old carpet was very worn out looking and the color was so neutral, I really couldn't stand it. I was a beige, tanish color and was really boring. I wanted a rug that would bring some color to my room and make it feel a little more homey. I shopped around at some local places, but I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for and as usual when all else fails I get on the internet and see what is out there.
Well, I found a great company that sells discount carpets UK and I really thought that buying carpet from them would be more expensive than buying right here in the US, well was I wrong. I found some amazing deals on discount carpet tiles. I am a do it myself type person, so I ordered them online and I installed them over the following weekend. Well, the new carpet in my bedroom looks amazing. It is a blue shade that is really nice. I thought it might look different when it arrived, however, the color was almost identical to how it looked online, which was a real plus since I had already gotten a comforter to match it.
Let's just say that my over all experience with this company was great. Now I can have my carpet and still afford to eat. It is incredible the discounts that shopping online can open you up to. The internet is a great way to find deals all over the world.

NLP training
Many years ago I heard about NLP training, but I just dismissed it. After all, I really didn't know what it was, nor did I really care. I was doing fine, or so I believed. Now a few years later, my business is at a stand still, and I don't really think that it has anything to do with the economy, but more to do with me and my way of thinking. I decided to take a new look into Neuro Linguistic Programming Training and was really amazed with it. I know a big change in perspective, but somehow you can only see things in their own time, a little something that I have learned along the way. Anyway, I decided to sign up for the training and it was relatively inexpensive, especially for what it offered me.
In order to understand NLP you must have a true understanding of the parts. The N stands for neuro and is short for neurological, which has to with the pathways of the nerves in your brain as well as the way in which you use your senses to hear, see, feel, and so forth. The L stands for linguistic which is essentially language. And programming means to set. Through NLP, you can learn to make changes not only in your language but also changes in your perception. These types of changes in your language can effect you on a very deep emotional level. They can not only change your outlook on the world, but can actually transform your world.
So what is Neuro Linguistic Programming? It is an interpersonal communication model applied in psychotherapy and other contexts of communication and change. It attempts to observe naturally self-taught expertise, and then model the processes and habitual patterns that experts intuitively use on the assumption that those behaviors were responsible for their results. In other words, it creates new thought patterns and processes and replaces the old ones with new and improved responses. And believe it or not you can accomplish all this by merely changing the language that you are using.
For myself, it has not only transformed my life, but my business as well. I am so grateful that I finally came around to taking NLP.

ONLINE INSURANCE QUOTES MAKE SAVING MONEY EASY
Many people believe that they are getting a fair price on their insurance. After all, when they bought their policy several years ago they shopped around and found the best available rate on their insurance. They made sure that they got a fair rate and their insurance hasn't gone up much since then, so they still believe that they are still getting the best price on their car insurance. The thing that you must keep in mind is that your insurance company doesn't want your premiums to go down, so unless you have them update your changes and or driving record in your benefit, then they aren't going to do it. It is just that basic and simple. Honestly, they want you to pay them well for their services, not to say that they wouldn't adjust your rates if you asked them too, of course they would, but let's face it, they are not going to look for changes to save you money, that job is yours and yours alone.
If you want to get the best possible rates on insurance then it is definitely worth your while to use your computer to get some insurance quotes. You may actually be surprised that you can probably get a better rate then your current insurance policy is offering you. Shopping around to find the best deals just makes sense, and honestly everyone I know who has shopped around has found a better rate on their car insurance, and other insurances as well.
Many people are concerned the shopping around is difficult, but it is actually very simple now, with the help of the internet you can find the best insurance quote for you usually within less than an hour. And switching is also pretty simple, most of the time you can do all the work online and be on your way to a cheaper insurance policy by tomorrow.
These days it just makes sense to save as much as you can, and this is a great way to save a few extra dollars and maybe use it for your holiday shopping or something. I am sure you can think of something that you can do with the extra money, can't you?
