six sigma certification
I have been learning a lot of interesting new perspectives from my summer course. I have been taking this survey of business strategy. I know it sounds like it is a bit of a wide topic, but it is just a survey and it's meant to really be an introduction or something brief for non business major people. Anyway, this class has sort of opened up my eyes in a way because it has shown me that our lives function more on the level of business that most of us would think. I mean when you look at it right, almost any part of our lives can be linked to a business strategy or a business idea.
The idea came to me when we were learning about something called a six sigma certification. Basically this is something that companies get when they want to make their already established business function at a higher level of productivity. People from this organization come in to a company and train people on how to do such a thing with a living breathing company. When I heard about this I thought about how in our own lives, we do this every day. We run in to roadblocks and try our best to figure out how to do things better next time. When we reach a point where we cannot find a route out of our situation, we look outside for help with whatever our problem may be. I have also heard that companies do things like this to also lure in new markets and employees. This is the same as what we do for our own personal resumes. We try our best to fill our namesake with things that will make people stop and read. The whole of human civilization can be boiled down to this show of experience as a means to get those things which we want be it a better job or a more efficient multi-national corporation.
I found this to be very interesting and I would wager that anyone could take a look at their own lives and find countless actions that they take which are driven by simple business efficiency strategies. We are all just trying to make things work better while life goes on around us.
