THE PERSIAN WOOL RUG FROM THE PAST

My mother has always loved Persian Carpets, and so growing up we always had them around. I don't think that I ever really paid them much attention but now that I am older and am decorating my own place, I can truly appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into these beautiful works of art. They are not just carpets as I had always thought in the past, but they are culturally significant, and no two are exactly alike. Each one contains its own colors and patterns, some even seem to tell a story. I found that I like the the ones that seem a bit more primitive with symbols and I really like the ones with lots of red in them.

As a matter of fact, I found a Persian Wool Rug that I love so much that I designed my whole living room around it. I chose the rug first and then decided on the wall color, furnishings, and curtains. Now the room is actually just about finished and I can't tell you how pleased I am with the whole thing.

Well, my mother came over yesterday and she had a big smile on her face, when she saw my living room. I asked her what was up and she just laughed. She said that when I was little we had a carpet that was very similar to the one I had chosen for my living room. She said, "You always loved that rug when you were a little girl, it is funny that you chose one so similar for your own home". We both got a laugh out of that. And I told my mother the minute I saw that rug, I knew I had to have it. I didn't know why, but I knew I loved it. I went on to tell her how I decorated the whole room around the rug because that is how much I wanted it.

When my mother left I sat down on the couch looking at the room I had created and my perfect persian rug. I was glad to be sitting in that room, it had come out just the way I had pictured it and I love it.
