west trip(py)
hanging out west
a few months ago, ali called me and asked what i was doing at the start of november.
i said, hmmm...nothing, so she asked me if i maybe wanted to drive back to grand rapids with her from somewhere, like san francisco or something.
so i thought about it (for about half a second), then said sure.
on november 7th, i flew out to san francisco and we started our adventure.

alcatraz

the world's #1 place to kill yourself.

when people tell you that san francisco is always foggy, they are not exaggerating in any way.

onward! to the mountains! sequoia national park.

the world's second largerst tree. 268 feet tall and forty feet in diameter, older than christ. if you don't believe these things are really that big...

...here is a picture of me (illegally..shhhh!) hugging a smaller one.

ali with a dead one :( (she is in the lower left corner)

kings canyon NP.

well you don't see a road like that every day.

ali in awe. with sophie, our killer ride who almost fell apart by the end of the trip, on the left.

california skies got room to spare.

welcome to zion NP

our last interesting stop. everything past denver is flat, cold and boring. but it is fun driving while playing "dodge the tumbleweed on the road."
driving across the country takes a long time.
but it is fun.
i recommend it.
