The Harry Potter Club

At Grand Valley State University

Who: We are the Harry Potter Club here at Grand Valley. We consist of a group of Harry Potter fans who like to get together one night a week for great times, lots of fun, and a chance to see close friends! Anyone and everyone is invited to attend these meetings!

What: So, what does the Harry Potter club do? Well, we do a lot of things at our weekly meetings!

ü      Discuss theories on the books or the characters themselves. (Did something not turn out the way you thought it would in the seventh book? Come find out what other fans thought!)

ü      Share our opinions on recent news in the Harry Potter fandom

ü      Have lots of fun making arts and crafts relating to the Harry Potter universe

ü      We have Steve VanderArk, the founder of the Harry Potter lexicon website, speak at the university each year.

ü      House sorting with a chance to earn house points for a grand prize at the end of the year!

ü      Lots of fun gatherings that involve end of the year feasts, a Yule Ball with a costume contest and lots more, playing “Avada Kedavra” in the Arboretum (don’t know that is? Check us out!!)

ü      Have a great time with close friends! This is a great way to meet your classmates who might have a similar interest and love for the amazing Harry Potter series!

When: We meet every single Thursday of the Fall and Winter semesters at 7 in the evening. We meet in room 004 in Kirkhof Center!
