Scott Klusendorf

On March 23 join GVSU Students for Life for what will prove to be a provocative discussion of abortion. Students for Life, an on campus pro-life organization, will be hosting one of the Right to Life movement’s most compelling and convincing speakers, Scott Klusendorf.

Klusendorf is a nationally known pro-life lecturer and debater and will be visiting GVSU as part of the second annual Fire and Ice Week, where students from both the pro-life and pro-choice sides have the opportunity to express their viewpoints on the abortion issue in the public square. As a result of this week long event it is hoped that Grand Valley students will make thoughtful and educated decisions concerning life issues in the future.

Klusendorf, a Magna Cum Laude Graduate of UCLA, author, and former director of Bio-ethics for Stand to Reason, is dedicated to traveling throughout the United States and Canada speaking to students and adults on the topic of abortion. It is with students, however, that Klusendorf hopes to make the greatest impact.
Klusendorf has appeared on nationally syndicated programs including “Focus on the Family” with Dr. James Dobson and Billy Graham’s “Hour of Decision.”

It is Klusendorf’s belief that the answer to abortion on demand should not involve violence, but rather logic and reasoning. He is best known for employing straightforward and simple statements to prove what is at the heart of the issue: the humanity and value of the unborn.

Many who’ve heard Klusendorf speak agree that he has an intellect to be reckoned with and consider him to be one the best defenders of the pro-life position in the United States and Canada. Furthermore, Klusendorf believes that being pro-life does not have to be a religious ideal. Instead, Klusendorf uses science and philosophy to guide the conversation on abortion.

Scott Klusendorf will be speaking at the Allendale campus on March 23rd at 7pm in the Grand River Room inside the Kirkhof center.

In addition to his lecture, Scott will also hold a Q and A session following his talk. This is a free event for all attendees and Students for Life welcomes all individuals regardless of their personal views on the topic.
