History and Mission

The Arab Culture Club (ACC) was established Fall semester of 1999 by a few students interested in the Arab culture. It was created to promote awareness of the Arab culture and provide experience of the traditions and customs. It is our hope to successfully share the old traditions now being passed down to the first American-born generation.

In addition, the ACC also strives to educate people on the stereotypes commonly associated with Arabs. Some of the events that have been put on at GVSU were the movie nights, Henna party, and participation in the Ethnic Festival, Coffee Hours, co-sponsoring activities with various other organizations, as well as the "Taste of the Arab World."

Each year, we continue to grow in experience, membership and recognition.
