Brief Overview : This program not only takes place in Shanghai, but in various places throughout the country. This program provides language study along with a focus on Chinese history, culture, and philosophy. There are two terms (spring and summer) and students can choose to sign up for one or both. There are various field-trips around the country and all students are welcome to apply.

| Study Abroad Taipei, Taiwan: |

Brief Overview : The study abroad program to Taipei, Taiwan is intended for Chinese language students. The focus of this program is for students to gain a stronger command of the language while immersing themselves in the culture. The program is faculty lead and involves courses taught by both a GVSU professor and by professors at National Taiwan Normal University's Mandarin Training Center. The program lasts for six weeks during the summer.
Requirements : An interest, and specifically, completion of Chinese 102 with a C or better.
