Hello!

Kari

My name is Kari Betts and I am a student at Grand Valley State University.

My declared majors are: English Language & Literature, and Creative Writing.  My minor will be in French.

This website was originally created for my French 306 class, Compositional French.  However, upon discovering how much fun making websites can be, I've decided to expand this site beyond french.

Ummm, let's see...I should probably tell you a little about myself...I am currently 20 years old and live in Allendale, Michigan, with three lovely roommates : Jenny, Kelly, and Shannon.  I am originally from Rochester Hills, Michigan, where my parents and brother still reside.  My father is an engineer for General Motors, my mother is a social worker for William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, and my brother is a firefighter for the city of Rochester Hills.

Being a college student, I find that a generous amount of time which could be spent on hobbies doesn't in fact exist, but nevertheless  my hobbies/interests include: reading, writing poetry and/or short works, dancing around when nobody is watching, and hanging out with my friends.  I enjoy watching movies and find it amusing to catch the glitches in the scenes that the editors either missed or didn't care enough to change.  I love to sing and proceed to do so every day, which I'm certain can sometimes annoy some people.  Oh well!  I am taking a choir class from Grand Valley, which is always the highlight and most anticipated class of my semester.

My favorite TV shows (past and present)  include: Dawson's Creek, Friends, Will & Grace, Who's Line is it Anyways?, and Northern Exposure.

My favorite movies include: The Notebook, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Love Actually, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Under the Tuscan Sun, Spanglish, and The Phantom of the Opera.  I'm sure there's a couple missing in there, but those are some that stick out.

Favorite songs: "You're Still the One" by the Orleans, "Jack and Diane," by Mr. John Cougar Mellencamp,  any song by Carly Simon, but specifically "Let the River Run," "Summer of '69," by Brian Adams,
"The Face of Love," by Jewel," "Sweet Southern Comfort," by Buddy Jewel, "Melt" by Rascal Flatts, "Amazing Grace," "O Holy Night," "Silent Night," and, of course, "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" by Shania Twain.

This site is currently under construction, and I will add to it whenever possible.
