I have a fascination with memories and a desire to spread happiness. I love childhood memories in particular: the events that were wonderful or terrifying, the things we got in trouble for, the books we read and things we learned and people we met, all elements we value much more as we grow older and the memories more distant. In my work, I create a situation, both a time and a place. Through the use of details from memory or things I've heard, I construct a believable situation that can bring a smile or laugh to anyone, young or old, who sees it. I use characters with attitudes that can be understood universally, and I tell stories through pictures that can be enjoyed on their own, even presented without words to explain them. Each person's life and experience is unique; in seeing my own interpretation of memories, they are encouraged to recall their own, and share them with others.
