life experience

back home

As a counselor for Camp Roger, I was able to really
connect with kids and their needs. It has changed my
life as I reflect back on the experiences there. I was forced
to grow and change and depend on others, because
I can't do this alone. But, amongst the long hours and
little rest, I experienced joy that can never be matched.

There's something about knowing you're exactly where you're
supposed to be.

In the summer of 2005 I had the amazing opportunity
to travel to Kenya for a month. I encountered so much heartache
and poverty that I was overwhelmed by it all. Through it, I
experienced God's grace as I saw things I had never seen.
I was blessed by the orphans who loved me as we played
together in the dust. Their songs and dancing changed my life.

Maybe all of our posessions don't mean a thing, joy is complete
in others and experiencing life with them.
