Axis Marketing and Management is run by Kris Johnson, a freelance marketer. Extensive work is done
with the book industry, planning and implementing author tours in conjuction with Zondervan. As an
intern, I worked making spreadsheets, tour guides, author arrangements, and eventually planning my
own venues. I ensured that the church hosting the author was prepared with the media guide,
advertising methods, and other measurements needed to run an author visit. Some of the authors
we have worked with are John Ortberg, Lee Strobel, Karen Kingsbury, and Philip Yancey.

Riverfront Cafe is owned by Ferris Coffee and Nut. It is the first time Ferris has run a cafe. Because of this,
I have been able to use marketing and advertising skills to help prepare materials and promote the cafe.
Using plans and techiques that I have learned in design classes and marketing classes, I have been able to
develop more effective displays and promotional material in order to build clientel.
Also, I have been able
to make new relationships with the customers that come in and build a lasting customer database.

Camp Roger is a Christian camp offering overnight camp to kids aged 6-18. Week long sessions are available
which allow kids a change to be in nature, build friendships, and have fun in a safe and comfortable atmostphere.
As a counselor, I have led many cabins in fun activites, meaningful devotion times, and built numerous
relationships with them. I have loved the leadership skills that this position has given me as I explore new ideas
that I can do with my kids, find effective ways to connect with them, and lead group wide activities.

The Buckle is a retail store offering premium denim and clothing for a wide range of customers. The company
thrives on a personal selling technique in which employees are trained to help each guest thoroughly. This
involves extensive product knowledge and selling techniques in which employees has to figure out what the
guest is looking for and needs. As a employee, I have been the top seller numerous times and have built
many long term relationships with guests over the years. I have increased my personal skills and my selling
skills because of this and realize the impact that a relationship can have with guests, making price not the
only variable. I have also learned how to think quickly and deal with numerous people and issues at the same
time.
