Web Quest Evaluation

I reviewed each Web quest from the Efficiency Expert perspective.  What I observed in every single web quest except for one is that they would all take a long period of time to complete, and some students may finish before others.  Overall for the Civil War Journal, Ancient Egypt, Creative Encounters I don't believe they utilize time efficiently to get the best bang for your buck.  However, for the landfill web quest, I found this is an activity that would not take a lot of time and can be discussed as a whole class near the end.  You learn a key concept within one lesson.  My other group members also agreed that Landfill was a better choice especially from the Altitudinous perspective, being as how students must use reason skills and problem solving to reach an answer.  Also from the affiliates perspective Landfill was a good choice due to the simple fact that students must work in groups and then later come together as a class to collaborate.  The worst Web quest we all agreed was the Ancient Egypt, due to the amount of time it will take up, the step by step process which takes away from higher level thinking, and they don't necessarily need to discuss anything in groups to come to a conclusion.  Lastly, when it came to the Technophile perspective the best choice was the Creative Encounters and its wonderful use of the internet and World Wide Web resources.  The worst web quest for the technophile was the Civil War Journal that lacked external links to the internet and other resources.
