Personal
I am currently a senior at Grand Valley State University. Mathematics with an emphasis in education is
my major, and I have a minor in economics. This year, 2008-2009, I am teacher
assisting at Allendale High School and pursuing my teaching certificate through
Grand Valley State University. For the
last four years at GVSU, I was an oarsman on the Rowing Team and now an alumni
member of the team. Coming to Grand Valley
was not a change for me, for Western Michigan
is what I call home. I grew up in Pentwater, which is located on Lake Michigan, is where I spent my childhood and I went
to one of the smallest public schools offered.
With a graduating class of 26 students I would have to say that it was
small. If you want to know more you can

Rowing:

Rowing at Grand
Valley started 40 years
ago when the college first opened its doors. The team consists of around 120 members, divided between a men’s team and a women’s team. In side each team, there is a varsity team
and a novice team. Therefore, there is
really 4 teams all together. From
2004-2008, I was a member of the rowing team.
During my for years, I traveled all around the U.S. and competed against
a variety of teams which were all great, from Harvard University to University
of Western Ontario. In addition to being
a Varsity oarsmen for 3 years, I was also Co-captain my junior and senior year
and secretary of the 2007-2008 board.
