The Life of Ben Doornbos

I was born on February 8, 1984 in Midland, Michigan.  Midland is a small town near the thumb of Michigan, about 20 miles west of Saginaw Bay.  I am the middle child of three, which include an older brother and younger sister.  In Midland, I attended the public school system at schools such as Adams elementary, Woodcrest Elemenatry, and Jefferson Intermediate.  In August of  1998, I entered high school and in June 2002, I graduated from Herbert Henry Dow High School.  At Woodcrest and Jefferson, I played on the basketball teams.  Woodcrest's years were the funnest because during those two years I was on that team we went undefeated.  We also participated in two tournments which we both won.  In Midland I also attend Midland Reformed Church.  In the church, I was raised to accept the teachings of the Bible and to accept Jesus Christ, son of God, as my personal Lord and Savior.  I am currently a full member of the church and over the years was active in the youth groups and also served as a Boys Club leader for children in grades 1-5.
After graduating high school in 2002, I came here to Grand Valley State University to begin my college years.  I chose Grand Valley because of their business school and also because it is near Grand Rapids, which is where almost all of my relatives live.  Here I plan to dual major in accounting and finance.  I plan to graduate in four years and keep my options open after that time.
