My World Travels

I consider myself to be very fortunate for a person my age.  Over the past
19 years, my family has been on numerous vacations to Florida, Colorado,
California, and many other states along the way.  I have also had the opportunities
to visit countries outside the continental United States and experience their cultures.  These
countries include Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands (My ancestoral homeland),
Austria, Switzerland, and finally Hawaii
(even though Hawaii isn't a country and part of the U.S., it is still half way to Japan)

Here are some of my favorite memories of these places

Germany

Cologne Cathedral in Cologne, Germany             Glockenspiel in Munich Plaza                              Rhine River

Netherlands

Delft was one of the towns I visited                   One of the classic Dutch Windmills

We had to make a trip to the Netherlands while in Germany.  It was really cool to visit my ancestoral homeland and
visit the town of Delft and see the Windmills in the countryside.

Hawaii

In Hawaii, we went snorkling here at molokini crater.  We also visted the large island, Hawaii.

California

These were the two hotels we stayed at in California.  The Hollywood Roosevelt was in Hollywood.  This hotel was
directly across the street from Grauman's Chinese Theater.  This hotel was also right down the street from The Kodak
Theater, which is where the academy awards were held.  Unfortunately, we checked in the day after the Academy Awards.  This hotel was also used in Britney Spears' movie "Crossroads."  Which I thought was really cool.  I was also able to go on a tour of celebrity homes.  I saw the homes of Jim Carrey, Nicholas Cage, Shaquille O'Neal, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ronald Reagan, The Playboy Mansion, and many others.  After Los Angeles, we went to San Diego.  Here we stayed at the Del Coronado, which was the coolest hotel I had ever stayed in.  This hotel was haunted and just reminded me of the hotel from "The Shining" if you have ever seen that movie.  Overall, this vacation was one of my favorites, even though I didn't see any celebrities.

Other vacations included many trips down to Florida and a few road trips out west.  In Florida, my favorite spots were
Disney World and St. Petersburg Beach.  While out west we visited landmarks such as Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone
National Park, and Grand Teton National Park.
