Biography
Hi! My name is Brian Gurta. I am 20 years old and I am currently attending Grand Valley State University where i am majoring in Psychology. Many people ask me if i am going into education, but I have decided that i would like to go to law school after I get my bachelor's degree. I have three younger siblings in my family who i live with over the summer in the Canton area. I enjoy being around kids very much, and i especially love swimming.
I have been swimming almost all my life. When i grew up, my parents put me through the YMCA swim lesson program and from there i went on to swim in middle school all the way to my last year of High School. I swam competitevely for the Walled Lake Central High School Varsity Swim team for 4 years under the coaching of Jeremy Brandon. No doubt, it was the best experience i have ever had. Havng learned so much and improving on my own, i decided to work as a swim instructor and that has gotten me to where i am today. (To see where i have taught, go to the "Experience" page)
During my senior year of High school I swam for a swim club called "Great Lakes Aquatics." The name of our team was the "Akitas." Great Lakes Aquatics is a well known United States Swimming/ United States Masters program that has helped built olympic level swimmers (unfortunetly, i personally would never swim in the olympics).
