Grand Valley traveled to Bloomington, Indiana to participate in the Indiana University Invitational. The weekend started out strong with Grand Valley defeating Ohio State 15-6. The next contest found the Lakers face to face with the Wolverines of Michigan. Grand Valley was looking to redeem their one goal loss at Purdue. The game was a hard fought effort on both sides of the ball. After surrendering a third quarter, three goal lead, Grand Valley and Michigan played to a 12-12 tie. Due to time constraints overtime was unable to be played and Grand Valley loss the tie breaker, leaving them second in the bracket. The Lakers finished off Saturday’s games with a 16-11 victory over Miami(OH). Sunday found Grand Valley matched up with Purdue. Grand Valley’s defense was superb as they went on to defeat the Boilermakers 11-4. The Lakers look forward to their weekend off as they prepare for the Great Lakes Conference Tournament November 6 and 7.
