Then remained in my home town and attended Grand Valley State University from August, 1985 through December of 1989.  I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in both Broadcast/Journalism and Advertising/Public Relations.

During my time at Grand Valley I was employed at both WGVU-FM 88.5 radio and WGVU-PBS television station. (http://www.wgvu.org/)

I returned to Grand Valley in January of 2001 to continue my education and work toward getting my teaching certificate to teach Elementary Education with a Language Arts minor.

Since graduating from high school I remained employed at Meijer Inc. until May of this year, which was just shy of completing 16 years of employment.  I quit Meijer to pursue my educational requirements to acquire my teaching certificate for Elementary Education with a Language Arts Minor.
