Assignment Four |
Professor Royer: I have made many changes throughout my website. Therefore, the entire package will need to be re-evaluated. The only changes I did not make were to assignments one and two and project one. I did not change assignments one and two because I did not see anything that needed it. Especially since they were basically writing assignments, so the appearance was not a big factor. I did not change project one because I was happy with the work I had done. I felt like I met the requirements and gave a good explanation of each recommendation. For project two I revamped my index page. I cleaned things up and made it easier to view. I realized it was not very organized so I added a navigation section on the left side. I made it so there was not very much scrolling needed also. On project three I realized that it would make more sense to have one universal navigation system throughout the entire project. So I changed that and made small changes to the CSS styles for the links. I also added the image "Public Relations Student Society of America" to each part. I thought that would help the viewer to keep the organization in mind. I also thought it kept things consistent. On project four I made the section where I explained my changes a little wider. I also centered the title on the top. The other change I made was the color of the visited links using CSS. I thought that the rest of the project did not need changes. Project five has had ongoing changes. I could not decide how I wanted it to look. I had a lot of ideas at first and did not know which ones I wanted to use. I finally decided on a design and went with it. I tried to put pictures on each section to draw more attention. The girl scout leaders emphasized that they would like to see a lot of pictures on the site. I think it makes the site fun and welcoming with the use of pictures. I placed them in places where it would not distract the viewer. I made a special photo section because they provided so many pictures that I felt bad not using them! I also think that the girls will like to try to find pictures of themselves. There was also a lot of information provided so I tried to keep it all organized and I tried to meet Elaine and Tammy's expectations as well. I left the contact information section partially blank because I needed different e-mail addresses for Tammy and Cathy because they did not want their work e-mail addresses on there. I also left a few areas open for the ladies to write captions (besides mine) for the pictures in the photo gallery. I have spent the most time on this project by far. I hope the leaders all like it and you as well! I enjoyed this class and I feel like I have learned a lot about web design. I think that it will be beneficial when I am out in my field in the real world! Thanks for a great learning experience and for teaching me about writing for the world wide web!! Andrea Hampel |
