![]() MJAFT is a consciousness-raising movement with over 7500 members that was started by Albanian graduates from West European and American Universities. Since its creation, they has backed their promises and ideas with actual deeds for the benefit of ALL Albanians. MJAFT has been able to: - Win the prestigious UN Civil Society Award in 2004 - Testify before the U.S. Congress on the state of affairs in Albania - Force the government to increase education spending by 10% in 2003 and 23 million in 2004. - Force the resignation of the Albanian Minister of Interior who publicly assaulted a journalist. - Force the government and Albanian Telecom to drastically reduce tariffs. - Unleash a series of nationwide protests against the Greek violence and racism towards Albanians. - Closely cooperate with sister organizations in Kosovo and in the region. - Creatively mock the government bodies and politicians for their lack of transparency and corruption. - Send a Team of Albanian Doctors right in the aftermath of the tsunami in Banda Aceh, Indonesia. MJAFT has been recognized for its diligent work and progressive ideas in international media including The Independent, Financial Times, The Guardian, Radio Free Europe, New York Times and others.
