Sarasota, FL
Sarasota is a beautiful city in southern Florida. We stayed in the Bentley's Hotel in Osprey. Osprey is located right on the edge of Florida near the Gulf of Mexico. This was the perfect setting for our winter training program because the hotel was located right next to the Inter-Coastal Waterway. The ICW is the perfect place for long distance training because it is a stretch of water that runs up and down the gulf side of Florida. During the winter we are endurance training and have practices that last a very long time. While we were down there we rowed 22 miles up the ICW, took a short break, and then rowed the 22 miles back to the docks, a 4 hour practice! All in all, Sarasota was a beautiful place to train and gave us some beautiful Florida weather.
