Alexander is the son of Mynrei, Marshall of Spire, and, unbeknownst to all but his mother, Zachariah, the former logistics officer of the Andes. He is half-brother to the Marshalle, Katrin. Alexander spent much of his life away from Spire, learning the trade of an engineer-smith at the knee of Mynrei's former lover, Justen, father of Katrin. Alexander fell in love with Trinity Fletcher, the daughter of Justen and Selene Fletcher. A raid tore the young lovers apart, though, when Alexander shoved Trinity into a flowing river to save her from the White raiders who were attacking. Alexander was captured by the White Armies and taken to Portus, where he worked as a slave on the road crews for many years until his rescue by the original Guard of Sean Jistani -- among them, his beloved, Trinity. The young angel has since had a major falling-out with his mother and has not spoken to her since shortly before the end of the Balance War. After the close of the Balance War, he and Trinity married, and he took her name, Fletcher, which she took from her mother, as his own. Shortly thereafter, the pair had children and later took over as Master Smiths for the Black Armies with the retirement of Trinity's father and Alexander's teacher, Justen. The pair reside at Castle Mirdreth, in Myst, to this day, caring for their two young children and serving the kingdom of Myst in all ways they know how.
