Born the youngest son of staunch Imperial supporters on Alderaan, Dargan spent only a fragment of his childhood on Alderaan before his parents moved to Coruscant with him and his older sister, Taymie.  Two of Dargan's older siblings, Vertil Dargan and Marie Dargan, were already in the Imperial Navy by that time.  Growing up on Coruscant was quite an experience for Dargan, and he spent a great deal of his time away from his parents' home.  When it came time for Dargan to choose a career, he shied away from a career in the Imperial Navy in favor of attending a prestigious journalism school on Coruscant.  He moved out of his parents' home to an apartment on the edge of the Alien Protection Zone.  It was during these years that he made his first contacts with the Alliance to Restore the Republic -- the Rebellion.  He helped coordinate the efforts of several cells on the world and was instrumental in ensuring that they got the supplies they needed before he got the opportunity to escape Coruscant after making contact with a team led by his niece, Kingston Taylor.  He departed from Coruscant with then-pilot Mara Amber.

After this escape, Dargan and Amber formed the Third Air Reconnaissance Team, which operated with distinction for some time before they were permanently assigned to Lieutenant Kingston Taylor's command as an element of Ice Squadron.  Dargan served with the unit for the better part of two years before a serious injury in a crash at Hoth temporarily ended his flight career.  Dargan was awarded a Distinguished Service Cross for his work up until his injury, which came as part of a test flight of the speeders later used in the evacuation of Echo Base.

His flight career ended and barely able to stand and walk due to chronic pain stemming from his injuries, Dargan was reassigned to an Intelligence post.  Information on his activities up until the Declaration of a New Republic is classified Top Secret.

After the Declaration of a New Republic after the Battle of Endor, Dargan surfaced as part of the New Republic Military's press corps.  He spent a great deal of time covering various campaigns and creating recruiting videos for various branches of the New Republic Armed Services.  Within a year of the Fall of Coruscant, which he chronicled in his an epic film, Dargan was reassigned to cover the Aurora Force, a unit, which, at the time, was suffering rather severely from bad press.  Dargan created several films about the unit, including "Farewell, Minos" and "Justice for Conceli IX."  He served as their press representative for several years until a personnel crunch landed him back on the active combat roster.  After some physical therapy, Dargan found himself back in the cockpit leading Aurora Force's Lightning Squadron.  On his first mission back, to the planet Ketaris, he saw more action on the ground than he did in the air, but that service was with distinction.  He was awarded a Combat Cross for his service at Ketaris.

Dargan remains in touch with elements of his former units, including Intelligence agent Mara Amber.  His known family includes his sisters, Marie Dargan-Taylor and Taymie Dargan, his brother-in-law Torvin Taylor, his nieces Kingston Taylor-Drake and Tegan Dargan, his nephew-in-law Robert Drake, and his great nephew and niece, Dorrin and Allison Drake.  He is engaged to Mara Amber of New Republic Intelligence.
