Early Education: I graduated from Forest
Hills Central High school in 1996. I attended Forest Hills schools
since elementary school. In high school I participated in basketball,
volleyball and softball my freshmen year. After that I took a break
from sports. I was a part of the Forest Exposure media group for
two years. This was a group of students that created, produced and
broadcasted news to the entire school on a daily bases.
Later Education: After high school
I attended Grand Rapids Community College for three years. When I
started there I was interested in majoring in Criminal Justice. I
wanted to either be a police officer or do detective work. While
I was there I took a few classes on juvenile delinquency and corrections.
These classes inspired me to work with young people. I later decided
that I wanted to help young people through education.
Current Education: I am currently a senior at Grand Valley State University. My major is History and my minor is Spanish. I plan on applying to the School of Education in the fall. I would like to teach on the secondary level. I hope to finish my graduation requirements in the fall and to start the Education Program in January.
