Social workers can be found in just about every segment of society. On this trip we saw social workers caring for children, teaching, advocating, working to create peace, and running organizations. The thing that I love most about social work is that I can have a passion and apply it anywhere within the social work field. There are endless possibilities for a person who is chosen for social work. Social work is more than a career, it is a calling.
Social workers can be described in so many ways that I will give you my own definition: A social worker is a person dedicated to equality, peace, and justice. They are relentless and determined in the mission for the good of all people. Social workers are compassionate, giving, optimistic, hard working, fair, and ethical.

On this trip I was able to get to know other future social workers and two professors, who have amazing experience. It was inspirational to learn from and with others who share similar passions for social change as me.
