Assessment and Evaluation: Teachers apply technology to facilitate a variety of effective assessment and evaluation strategies.

  1. Apply technology in assessing student learning of subject matter using a variety of assessment techniques.

  1. Use technology resources to collect and analyze data, interpret results, and communicate finds to improve instructional practice and maximize student learning.

  1.   Apply multiple methods of evaluation to determine students’ appropriate use of technology resources for learning, communication and productivity.

A.  There are a variety of ways of assessing student learning using technology.  One way is using rubrics online.  There are sites available through schools that allow teachers to keep track of grades over the computer.

  1. A good way of collecting data is using a spreadsheet.  Using spreadsheets is one of my weakest areas of technology use.  I can use them, but I generally need step-by-step instructions to follow. Also, data can be transformed from a spreadsheet into a graph, which is a way that some students interpret data better.

C. A way I will create multiple rubrics for students is by having different options available for projects.  For example, for a project that is worth a large part of the grade, I will give students an option of creating a PowerPoint presentation, making a song, or writing a paper about the material we’ve covered in class.  This way, each student can create a project that uses their strengths.
