Since the first chapter was chartered in 1965, the student program has continued to grow. The SHRM® student membership program now includes over 400 affiliated student chapters and nearly 10,000 student members. The purpose of the SHRM is to aid its members in becoming more effective in the field through group projects and activities, publications, speakers, and employment assistance.
