Lesson Plan for Day #10
Title: Detective
Discoveries
Overview: Students will have a chance to share three of
their favorite observations they made while writing in their Detective
Notebooks. If time allows, students will
have the opportunity to share and discuss what they felt was the most important
message in the novel.
Goals / Objectives:
·
Students will
learn from each other’s observations
·
Students will
gain experience in voicing their literature observations to their peers.
Materials / Resources Needed
Completed student notebooks
(brought by the students.)
Activities / Procedures:
I will give the students
time to look over the observations in their notebooks and pick out three that
they would like to share with the class. |
10 minutes |
Students will take turns
sharing their observations. Peer
comments on observations will be welcomed.
|
20-30 minutes |
As time permits, students
can discuss what they think the most important message of Feed is. |
10-20 minutes |
I will collect the notebooks
for grading at the end of class.
Assessment:
Notebooks will count as a
significant part of the students’ grade for this unit. Participation will be equally significant due
to the heavy concentration on discussion.
