Lesson Plan for Day #9
Title: Tribute
Overview: Students have almost the entire class period
to write and workshop their tributes.
The last ten minutes of class will be reserved for anyone who wants to
read his or her tribute aloud.
Goals / Objectives:

develop final insights about the two main characters of this novel

Students will
use the mood and available audience of a workshop session to create meaningful
writing
Materials / Resources Needed
Standard Classroom Materials
Activities / Procedures:
Students will have open
work shop time to draft, peer review, and edit their tributes. Students may work by themselves, in pairs,
in groups or with me as they see fit. |

I will give students ten
minutes at the end of the day to share their tributes with the class if they
wish. I will collect finished tributes
at the end of class. Students should
make any final touches to their Detective Notebooks. The notebooks will be collected tomorrow. |

Assessment:
I will grade tributes based
on the student’s insight in to the characters and the students’ creative
portrayals of larger ideas in the text.
