
School Years:
Kyle grew up in Allendale, MI
where he went to elementary, middle, and high school. He was a member of the football, baseball,
wrestling, Science Olympiad, and the chess team. He ended high school as number 7 in his class
and during his high school years he took 3 college courses through dual
enrollment. Kyle was also a member of
the band from 5-8th grade and a member of the both the high school
and show choir in 11th and 12th grade respectively. During his choir experience he was the leader
of the baritone section. During his
middle and high school Science Olympiad experience, he earned over 15 regional
and state medals. In school, Kyle always
excelled at math and science and is most likely why he choose to continue his education
in those areas. Kyle graduated in May of
2006 upon which he planned to attend GVSU.
College Years:
Kyle attends Grand Valley
State University
where he studies mathematics and physics with an emphasis in secondary
education. During his college years Kyle
coaches Science Olympiad and thus far has spent numerous hours observing and
teaching students at the level he plans to teach. Kyle was the head coach of the Middle School Science
Olympiad team during the 2008-2009 school year.
During the 2007-2008 school year, Kyle was the assistant Science
Olympiad coach and during the 2006-2007 Kyle was a volunteer coach for the High
School. His college progress is
exceptional, earning the honor of the Dean’s List during most of his semesters;
currently, he is on track to graduate in
spring of 2010. He is considering
continuing his education upon graduation at another university to get his
masters in mathematics. Kyle has taken
and passed the Michigan Test for Certification in Mathematics (secondary),
Physics, and in basic skills. He is
actively involved in religious organizations and seeks opportunities to
encourage and motivate students or colleges wherever possible.
Values:
Kyle believes in a hard-working,
cooperative, and self-motivating environment in which all team members are encouraged
to succeed. He also believes that
everyone is innately given a desire to want to succeed, and therefore, he would
only wish to create an environment, whether in a classroom or industry, where
all employees have the chance to use their talents in a positive and conducive
manner. He also believes that it is the
goal of management to not only make the best decisions for the employees that
they manage, but to also gently receive constructive criticism from those
employees as well.
