Quick Steps To Image Mapping 1. Click on the image you wish to be mapped so that it is selected and go to the ‘map’ field. Here you will type ‘navbar’ because the star will be your navigational toolbar and this will identify the image as a navigation device. 2. Click the ‘ hotspot’ tool for the appropriate shape (circle, rectangle, ect) and drag the shape around the area of the image to be mapped first. By doing this you are beginning to create a link. Release the mouse button, but with image portion still selected. This will change the options in your ‘property inspector.’ 3. Use the ‘point to file’ tool to assist you in linking to the corresponding page or type the html address directly into the link box. The linking in Image Mapping is the same as the linking in other functions of Dreamweaver. 4. (OPTIONAL) with that image still selected, type a label in the ‘alt’ field under ‘property inspector’ and press the ‘enter’ key. This will tag the mapped area of the image so that when the cursor moves over the area, a tag will pop up. 5. Press ‘F12’ or click on the globe to view in explorer. 6. Save and close the file. |
