Reinvented
I should have said something I never
said enough
I should have meant something that I
didn’t mess up
So now I’m an open book to you in
simple view…
I realize now we made it farther than
before
What was so obscure is now so sure
I remember what it’s like to melt
with you
I never stuttered when I had nothing
to say
I can’t go back to start and redo
today
But from now on it’s all downhill
There’s a flower on the window sill
I reinvented my perspective and now I
Know the way back to you
The alarm had sounded after I had
already gone
I programmed myself to be up at dawn
To begin my day without a qualm…
The bitter boy behaved his best with
both eyes shut
Now they’re open and I climbed out of
the rut
The directions were written on my palm
