The Constitution of
the Future Police and Educators Association
of Grand
Valley State University
Preamble:
We, the members of the
Future Police and Educators Association, wish to create an environment
for our members where the relationship of future educators and future police
officers of America is established through discussion and participation in
group activities such as community service, fundraisers, and various other
events.
ARTICLE ONE: NAME
The name of this organization
is the Future Police and Educators Association.
ARTICLE TWO: PURPOSE
The purpose of this organization is to facilitate networking
with peers, professionals, and professors in the criminal justice and education
fields, both on and off campus, through community service, fundraising, and
other events. By being an active participant in the Grand Valley State
University and surrounding communities, we will develop ties with other organizations,
both student and professional, that will allow us to provide our members
with increased employment opportunities upon graduation, and also facilitate
an understanding for the importance of the relationship between individuals
in the criminal justice and education fields (12/3/04).
ARTICLE THREE: AFFILIATION WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS
As opportunities arise, the Future Police and Educators Association
will cooperate with various other student and professional organizations
both on and off campus to increase opportunities for community service and
various other events pertaining to the criminal justice and education fields
(12/3/04).
ARTICLE FOUR: MEMBERSHIP
Section One: General Assembly Membership
4.1.1
The membership of the Future Police and Educators Association shall consist
of any interested student
currently enrolled at GVSU. It is the policy of GVSU and the Future
Police and Educators Assocation
that no person on the basis of age, color, affiliation, race, religion, sex/gender, sexual orientation, veteran
status, or weight shall be discriminated against.
4.1.2
Every member must have an interest in our group and attend 2/3 of the meetings
held during one academic
school year.
4.1.3
Each member must pay a fee of $5 to participate in the Future Police and
Educators Association. This fee will benefit the program
and its members as it will cover unexpected expenses not requested in the
annual budget (12/3/04).
ARTICLE FIVE: EXECUTIVE BOARD
Section One: Description
5.1.1
The Executive Board shall consist of four (4) core members: President, Vice
President, Secretary, and
Treasurer.
