Participating in the construction of simple and affordable housing is the foundation of Habitat for Humanity. With our affiliate, Habitat for Humanity of Kent County, we have agreed to contribute to the building of homes — and in turn, communities. This semester, GVSU is working on the collegiate build house located at 821 Dorcester SW in Grand Rapids, MI. We have partnered with Calvin and Aquinas colleges in this effort. The homeowner is a single mother, who has a 16-year old daughter. Students can learn basic construction techniques on site, while working up a sweat for a good cause.
