Core Services

Assessment

For most people, understanding their skills and interests is the first step to finding a job. When you get invovled in Goodwill's career assessment, you can meet with Goodwill vocational services professionals to discuss work experience and aspirations, identify your strengths and outline a plan for developing the skills you need to succeed in your chosen career.

Training

We at Goodwill realize that people come from diverse skill and educational backgrounds, so wel offer a range of short-term and long-term training options for jobs in specific industries such as manufacturing, hospitality, custodial, retail or health care. Goodwill also offers in-depth workshops that teach you the soft skills necessary for succeeding in the workplace, such as office etiquette, how to prepare for an interview, and how to deal with conflict in the workplace.

Job Placement

When you are ready to apply for jobs, Goodwill provides resources to help conduct job searches, write resumes and practice interviewing skills.



Job Retention

Starting a new job often presents challenges to people not used to balancing work with other responsibilities. Goodwill staff regularly consults with you about how to handle situations such as crises at home or understanding employer expectations. In some cases, more intensive services such as on-site job coaching are offered.

Support Services

In order to stay employed, you may seek out additional services such as transportation or counseling. Goodwill offers some of these services, and also serves as a primary link between you, the worker, and other service providers within the community.
