There are a number of things that we are thinking
about for the semester. We are selling 1-liter
Nalgene® water bottles with a bioclub
logo. They're $5 for members who've paid their
dues, and only $7 otherwise.

Past Events
Past events have included:
- Biology In the Windy City: This is the annual
Bio Club trip to Chicago and its Field Museum and
Shed Aquarium.
- Speakers from our own windswept, grassy knoll:
We also have GVSU faculty give presentations about
their own research and research interests
- "Where do we go from here?": We have
asked the friendly folk from Career Services to come
to a meeting or two and give a more biology-focused
outlook upon the current job market and upon graduate
school requirements.
- Down in the dumps: Every year the Biology
Club gathers together with trash bags in hand to keep
the Ravine tidy and clean. It's an enjoyable
time with friends and in a quiet setting far below
the bustle of campus traffic. Besides, you never
know what sort of interesting things that you may
find.
- Rock Climbing: We reserved a night at the
GVSU Climbing Center and had some fun clmbing.
- Beach Cleanup: We take part in the Annual
Beach Sweep of Lake Michigan. This year, over 50,000
cigarette butts and over 14,000 food wrappers were
picked up by 2,250 people at 120 sites around Lake
Michigan.
- Hayride: Each year, the wonderful Char Vanderhoning
welcomes us to a hayride and bonfire at her farm.
Horseback riding is an option!

Our Goal
The GVSU Biology Club is an organization dedicated to
bringing biology out of the classroom. It provides
students interested in biology and the natural sciences
with opportunities to meet people with the same interests
and goals. It provides students with opportunities
to explore a wider range of experiences, with events
such as camping trips in natural surroundings, ravine
cleanups, and trips to Chicago. It provides speakers
who discuss their personal research interests and findings.
The Biology Club is also a means of support for biology
and natural science students, offering information from
the Career Counseling Center about graduate school and
career requirements. To sum it all up, the Biology
Club is a way to integrate biology into a student's
life, instead of leaving it in a book or at the threshold
of a lecture hall.
