Project Summary:

The purpose of my CS658 project is for me to work with some distributive networking technology that I have never used before.  I am not a programmer so the goal of the project is not to learn to program but to gain an understanding of a few networking concepts that are important elements of modern disrupted systems.  The technology that I have chosen is RSS, XML, PHP and to a smaller extent, SQL and Apache.

In a nutshell, I will create a database, pull information from that database, publish the information to a web page in the form of XML/RSS tags, and then pull that information into an RSS reader.

Project Design Document:

The project design document is the “road map” for the project.  It details versions of software and protocols to be used, hardware configurations, system topology, etc.

Project Journal:

The project journal is the place that I will all of my project work notes.  It should contain not only successful implementations but also failures, project “blind alleys”, and my personal thoughts.  This is not a formal document.
