The Biography:

I used to be able to ride a bike with no hands, but I can’t seem to do it anymore. I’ve always been good at making faces. I kinda hate answering the question “What are you going to do with that,” especially when it’s about my General Communications degree. I finished college without ever really hating it for more than a few hours at a time. I liked college. Actaully, I still like college. I never knew that toilet paper was so expensive. I’m not a carpenter, but I built a desk. It quickly became a table, because I immediately started covering it with stuff that, at the time, I was planning to organize later. I really like bluegrass music, and I think it's because I was born in the South. I moved to Michigan from Alabama when I was only two, but somehow there's still a little redneck in me. I had my first girlfriend in the first grade, and she was Thai. It was a long time ago, and I can’t remember ever breaking up with her, and sometimes I wonder if she has been cheating on me. In all honesty, I don’t know that either of us was prepared to bear the millstone of an interracial relationship at such a young age. Her father inevitably would have disapproved, and we would have faced alienation from our kin at the very start. I don’t ever skip breakfast, not when cereal tastes so good. I never did understand Bjork. I always thought phone numbers had to have seven digits, and I don’t understand how it works when a commercial gives you a number like “1-800-Call-Us-Now." That’s more than seven digits – do you dial all of ’em? I played the tuba in marching band in high school. And I was good. Two years ago, I went to Africa and it changed my life. I even learned a little Swahili - habari za mchana? (How are you this afternoon?) I'm trying to find a way to go back. Maybe for a lot longer next time. I think a lot about pride. I think a lot about submission. I am a follower of Jesus Christ. I will live my life for him.

This is me on top of Mount Mimia in Tanzania. This is far and away the best landscape my eyes have ever seen. To help you understand the scope, that lake in the hazey distance behind me is Lake Rukwa. It looks tiny, but you can see it from space.
